COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) revealed the 2026 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Teams on Monday afternoon with a total of 57 student-athletes from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team garnering recognition for their achievements in the classroom, including eight student-athletes on the RMAC All-Academic First Team.
Colorado School of Mines' Emily LaMena was tabbed as the RMAC Women's Academic Athlete of the Year, while Colorado Christian University's Matthew Storer was selected as the RMAC Men's Academic Athlete of the Year.
The RMAC All-Academic First Team and Academic Athlete of the Year awards were voted on by the conference's sports information directors.
To be eligible for consideration on the RMAC All-Academic First Team, a student-athlete must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and carry a cumulative 3.50 grade point average (GPA). All student-athletes that met those requirements but were not selected for the First Team, or have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, automatically qualified for the Honor Roll.
Senior
Dillon Arvayo collected RMAC All-Academic First Team accolades for the second time in his collegiate career after putting together a strong outdoor season along with his continued success in the classroom as a business major. At the RMAC Outdoor Championships, Arvayo posted a seventh-place score of 6,104 points in the decathlon and notched personal bests in the 400m, high jump, shot put, and long jump while scoring two points for the men's team. At the APU Franson Last Chance on May 7-9, the native of Tucson, Ariz. wrapped up his collegiate career with a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying score of 6,538 points, which finished the season ranked fourth in the RMAC and 34
th in NCAA Division II in addition to being tied for No. 4 all-time in UCCS program history.
Redshirt senior
Molly Breuer notched RMAC All-Academic First Team honors for the second time in her collegiate career and the first time since the 2023 cross country season after composing an incredible outdoor season on the track and in the classroom as a nursing major. Specializing in the 3,000m steeplechase, Breuer earned All-RMAC Second Team honors and scored five points for the Mountain Lion women's team in the event at the RMAC Outdoor Championships, finishing fourth overall in the race with a converted time of 10:45.87. Two weekends later, Breuer put her talents on display at the APU Franson Last Chance in California and dropped a personal best time of 10:29.77 that earned her USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors and a qualifying spot at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in addition to moving her up to No. 2 all-time in UCCS program history for the event. At the outdoor national championship meet, Breuer finished 15
th overall in the preliminary round of the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:40.71, securing USTFCCCA Second Team All-America accolades.
For the second time in his collegiate career, redshirt junior
Joseph Impellitteri earned RMAC First Team All-Academic accolades with a breakout performance on the track alongside his excellent work in the classroom. A communications major from Hebron, Ky., Impellitteri broke his own school record in the 3,000m steeplechase early in the season with a time of 9:11.90 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic before shaving a couple more seconds off his personal best at the RMAC Outdoor Championships, where he finished third overall and earned First Team All-RMAC accolades with a raw time of 9:09.65. His altitude-converted time of 8:56.60 from the outdoor conference championship meet registered as a huge personal best for Impellitteri and earned him USTFCCCA All-South Central Region accolades along with a qualifying position at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. At the outdoor national championship meet, Impellitteri broke the UCCS school record in the 3,000m steeplechase once again with a time of 8:55.88 in the preliminary round of the event before going on to finish ninth overall in the event final to collect USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors.
Redshirt junior
KJ McInnis notched RMAC All-Academic First Team accolades for the first time in his collegiate career after combining an exceptional outdoor season in the jumps events with his strong work on the academic side as a digital media major. The native of Denver, Colo. was an NCAA provisional qualifier in both the long jump and triple jump throughout the outdoor season and went on to score 16 points for the Mountain Lions at the RMAC Outdoor Championships as the individual champion in the triple jump and the fourth-place finisher in the long jump. A First Team All-RMAC honoree in both events and USTFCCCA All-South Central Region recipient in the triple jump, McInnis parlayed his season-best triple jump mark of 15.24m into a position at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where he secured USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors with a 10
th-place finish in the event.
A second-time member of the RMAC All-Academic First Team, senior
Brooke Peterson collected the accolade after finishing her collegiate career with another strong outdoor season at the pole vault runway and in the classroom. A biology major from Cottonwood, Ariz., Peterson posted a season-best mark of 3.82m at the RMAC Outdoor Championships as she went on to secure the individual championship in the event, earning First Team All-RMAC honors and scoring 10 points for the UCCS women's team. Her mark of 3.82m finished the outdoor season ranked third in the RMAC, fourth in the South Central Region, and tied for 38
th in NCAA Division, earning her USTFCCCA All-South Central Region accolades.
Redshirt junior
Kaya Pillivant attained RMAC All-Academic First Team distinction for the third time in her collegiate career with the help of a strong outdoor season on the track and in the classroom as a mathematics major. Pillivant opened her season at the Chuck Haering Invitational on March 28 and put forth a personal best converted time of 17:04.24 for a third place finish out of 25 competitors. She continued her season at the Kit Mayer Classic on April 11 with a converted time of 37:05.43 in the 10,000m race before finishing her campaign with an incredible effort at the RMAC Outdoor Championships two weeks later in which she raced to First Team All-RMAC honors as the individual event champion in the 10,000m with a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying converted time of 35:40.13.
Senior
Michael Roberts collected RMAC All-Academic First Team honors for the second time in his collegiate career with an impressive final outdoor season wearing the black and gold. A business major from Arvada, Colo., Roberts unleashed a personal best and school record toss of 63.59m in the hammer throw at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi on April 9 and carried his momentum into the RMAC Outdoor Championships, where he scored 16 points and secured a pair of First Team All-RMAC accolades as the individual event champion in the hammer throw and the third-place finisher in the discus throw. A USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honoree in the hammer throw, Roberts became a first-time qualifier for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the hammer throw and went on to notch USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors with an 11
th place finish in the event.
Junior
Krissie Sanders rounded out the Mountain Lions' RMAC All-Academic First Team recipients as she earned the accolade for the third time in her collegiate career coming off an incredible outdoor season on the track and in the academic realm as a philosophy major. A native of Littleton, Colo., Sanders scored 18 points for the Mountain Lions at the RMAC Outdoor Championships as she was the individual event champion in the 400m hurdles with a school record raw time of 58.11s and the runner-up in the 100m hurdles with a personal best raw time of 13.76s. An All-RMAC First Team and USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honoree in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, Sanders was selected for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in both events and went on to secure USTFCCCA Second Team All-America accolades with a 10
th place finish in the 400m hurdles.
In addition to having eight first team honorees, UCCS also had 49 student-athletes listed on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, including 25 from the men's team and 24 from the women's team.
