COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs head track & field coach Ross Fellows announced on Tuesday afternoon the addition of 50 student-athletes to the Mountain Lions' roster as part of the program's 2026-27 recruiting class.
 
The Mountain Lions are coming off a highly successful 2025-26 campaign that saw the program capture three RMAC championships and collect 23 USTFCCCA All-America honors across the indoor and outdoor seasons. UCCS swept the men's and women's team titles at the RMAC Indoor Championships before the women went on to claim their second consecutive outdoor conference championship with a program-record 227.33 points, while the men finished runner-up at the outdoor championship meet. On the national scale, the Mountain Lions saw 11 student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships and 14 student-athletes qualify for the outdoor national meet for a total of 18 individual entries and two relay entries.

Our coaching staff put a lot of time and effort into finding student-athletes who can make an immediate impact while also helping us build for the future. What excites me most is that they want to succeed in every area. They're ready to compete at a high level, work hard in the classroom and represent UCCS with pride. They understand the championship standard of our program, and they're excited to help us continue raising the bar. This class has the talent, determination and character to make a real impact, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish as Mountain Lions."
 
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
On the men's side, the UCCS track & field program is set to add 30 student-athletes to the program for the 2026-27 campaign, including 26 incoming freshmen and four transfers.
 
Jeremiah Bonano | Jumps | Charleston, S.C. | West Texas A&M / Wingate / Philip Simmons HS
Bonano makes his way to UCCS after spending the 2025-26 season at West Texas A&M University and the previous two seasons at Wingate University. Across his collegiate career, Bonano has posted personal best marks of 7.24m (23-9) in the long jump, 14.12m (46-4) in the triple jump, and 1.93m (6-4) in the high jump, while also helping West Texas A&M capture Lone Star Conference titles during both the indoor and outdoor seasons last year. Prior to his collegiate career, Bonano was a standout at Philip Simmons High School, where he was named the 2022-23 Male Athlete of the Year and claimed the South Carolina 3A state championship in the triple jump while earning All-State honors and a pair of All-Region accolades.
 
Jackson Chase | Sprints | Mt. Shasta, Calif. | Mt. Shasta HS
Chase joins the Mountain Lions' sprints group following a standout career at Mt. Shasta High School, where he was a two-time CIF State Championship qualifier and captured the 400m title at the CIF Northern Section Championships as a junior. Chase continued to improve his personal bests during his senior campaign, clocking times of 11.25s in the 100m, 22.17s in the 200m, 48.11s in the 400m, and 1:56.07 in the 800m. A three-time All-Conference honoree entering his senior season, Chase also established school records in the 400m and 4x400m relay during his time with the Bears. Away from the track, he was a four-year Honor Roll student and served on the ASB Student Council during the 2024-25 academic year.
 
Aedan Clarke | Distance | Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. | Trabuco Hills HS
Clarke joins the Mountain Lions following a decorated career at Trabuco Hills High School, where he was a cross country and track & field letterwinner while also serving as a team captain for the Mustangs. He posted personal best times of 1:55 in the 800m, 4:16 in the 1600m, and 14:35 in the three-mile while finding success on the state stage in cross country, placing fourth at the 2025 state meet before returning to finish seventh in 2026.
 
Hewitt Coffman | Sprints | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Colorado School of Mines / Liberty HS
Coffman comes to UCCS after spending his freshman season at fellow RMAC institution Colorado School of Mines, where he established personal best times of 6.98s in the 60m, 10.90s in the 100m, and 22.24s in the 200m. Prior to his collegiate career, the Colorado Springs native was a two-time varsity letterwinner at Liberty High School and was named the program's Track Athlete of the Year in 2025. Coffman has also excelled academically, earning a pair of track academic letters, three High Honors distinctions, the Seal of Biliteracy, and Order of the Crest recognition before going on to earn Dean's List honors during the spring of 2026 at Mines.
 
Preston Evans | Hurdles | Fort Collins, Colo. | Loveland HS
Evans makes the short trip south to Colorado Springs after a successful career at Loveland High School, where he was a four-year track & field letterwinner and two-year team captain for the Red Wolves. The hurdles specialist posted personal best times of 14.53s in the 110m hurdles and 38.90s in the 300m hurdles while earning All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition in both events. Evans also found success at the state level, placing seventh in the 110m hurdles and as a member of Loveland's 4x400m relay while finishing 12th in the 300m hurdles. Evans was also a standout in the classroom as he was a four-year academic letterwinner, three-time Academic All-State First Team selection, National Honor Society member, and summa cum laude graduate.
 
Ernest Fields | Sprints | Denver, Colo. | Denver West HS / Abraham Lincoln HS
Fields will look to bolster the Mountain Lions' sprint group following his prep career at Denver West High School and Abraham Lincoln High School. The Denver native posted personal best times of 10.76s in the 100m, 21.42s in the 200m, and 47.80s in the 400m while earning First Team All-Conference honors and collecting both First and Second Team All-State accolades during his high school career. Fields was also recognized as a team MVP and Co-Athlete of the Year while helping his team claim a pair of league championships.
 
Joey Hatton | Distance | Fountain, Colo. | Fountain-Fort Carson HS
Hatton arrives at UCCS as one of the most accomplished distance runners in Fountain-Fort Carson history, holding school records in the cross country 5K, 1600m, and 3200m. He was a two-time all-conference selection, a league champion in both the 1600m and 3200m, and recorded personal bests of 4:18 (1600m), 9:37 (3200m), and 15:34 (5K).
 
Greyson Losey | Sprints | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Doherty HS / James Irwin Charter Academy
Losey stays close to home to continue his track & field career at UCCS after competing locally at Doherty High School and James Irwin Charter Academy. A two-year letterwinner in track & field, Losey posted personal best times of 10.72s in the 100m and 49.20s in the 400m while earning Second Team All-League honors in both events as a senior. He also contributed to Doherty's relay success, earning First Team All-Conference recognition in the 4x200m relay and Second Team All-Conference honors in the 4x400m relay.
 
Aidan Malherbe | Distance | Berthoud, Colo. | Berthoud HS
Malherbe joins the Mountain Lions as the reigning 3A Colorado State champion in the 800m after running a personal best time of 1:53.88. He also helped Berthoud win two state titles in the 4x800m relay and finished as the 2024 state cross country runner-up.
 
Alex Marchand Fierro | Sprints/Hurdles | Rocky Ford, Colo. | North Iowa Area CC / Iowa Central CC / Rocky Ford HS
Marchand Fierro returns to his home state of Colorado after spending the 2025-26 season at North Iowa Area Community College and the 2024-25 campaign at Iowa Central Community College. During his two seasons at the junior college level, he posted personal best times of 22.24s in the 200m, 49.04s in the 400m, 8.48s in the 60m hurdles, 15.82s in the 110m hurdles, and 55.14s in the 400m hurdles. Prior to his collegiate career, Marchand Fierro was a standout at Rocky Ford High School, where he captured a pair of Colorado 2A state championships and earned First Team All-State honors six times.
 
Tyler Markel | Hurdles | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Coronado HS
Markel will remain in Colorado Springs to continue his career with the Mountain Lions following a trio of varsity letters with the track & field team at Coronado High School. A First Team All-League honoree in 2025, Markel capped his senior campaign by placing 10th in the 110m hurdles and 11th in the 300m hurdles at the 2026 Colorado 4A State Championships while also helping the Cougars' 4x400m relay to a 14th-place finish. Markel was also recognized as a Rotary Champion nominee and received the David Scott Mueller Award in 2026 along with Academic All-State First Team honors as a senior.
 
Jackson Marshall | Distance | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Village HS
Marshall comes to UCCS after earning all-state honorable mention in cross country and qualifying for the state track meet in the 800m and 4x400m relay as member of the Village High School program. A team captain and school record holder in both events, he also helped his relay team place fifth at the state championships.

Dylan McArty | Hurdles | Pensacola, Fla. | Warner University / Niceville HS / Crestview HS
McArty makes the move to Colorado Springs after spending two seasons at Warner University, where he established personal best times of 8.04s in the 60m hurdles and 54.47s in the 400m hurdles. During his time with the Royals, McArty earned Second Team NAIA All-America honors on two occasions and was a two-time First Team All-Sun Conference recipient across the indoor and outdoor seasons. Prior to beginning his collegiate career, McArty attended Niceville High School and Crestview High School in Pensacola, Fla.
 
Nathan Moller | Jumps/Hurdles | Monument, Colo. | Palmer Ridge HS
Moller makes his way to UCCS after capping his career at Palmer Ridge High School with a Colorado 4A state championship in the high jump, clearing a personal best bar of 2.08m (6-10) to claim the title as a senior. The Monument, Colo., native also earned a third-place finish in the 110m hurdles at the 2026 state championships with a time of 14.45s after competing across the jumps, hurdles, and sprints throughout his prep career. Moller was also a Gazette Preps All-Area selection and earned MileSplit All-City recognition while helping the Bears capture a PPAC team championship.
 
Hayden Oringdulph | Throws | Monument, Colo. | Palmer Ridge HS
Oringdulph becomes the second Palmer Ridge product in the Mountain Lions' incoming class after earning three varsity track & field letters with the Bears. The Monument, Colo., native posted personal best marks of 46.43m (152-4) in the discus and 14.78m (48-6) in the shot put while earning First Team All-Conference honors in the discus in 2025, Second Team All-State recognition in 2025, and All-State Honorable Mention as a senior in 2026. Oringdulph was also named Palmer Ridge's Track & Field Comeback Athlete of the Year in 2026 and helped the Bears finish third as a team at the 2026 Colorado 4A State Championships. A multi-sport athlete, he also earned three varsity letters in football and was a member of three league championship and two state runner-up teams.
 
Alex Ratliff | Throws | Hailey, Idaho | Wood River HS
Ratliff heads to Colorado Springs following a highly successful throwing career at Wood River High School, where he established school records in both the shot put and discus. The Hailey, Idaho, native showed significant improvement throughout his prep career, culminating with personal best marks of 17.45m (57-3) in the shot put and 50.04m (164-2) in the discus as a senior after also recording a mark of 15.37m (50-5) in the weight throw during the 2026 indoor season. Ratliff helped the Wolverines to a fourth-place finish at the 2025 state meet and a district runner-up finish in 2026, while also earning AP Scholar recognition from the College Board for his work in the classroom.
 
Gavin Reddick | Sprints | Cañon City, Colo. | Cañon City HS
Reddick brings an impressive championship pedigree to the Mountain Lions after a decorated career at Cañon City High School that saw him claim three Colorado 4A individual state titles. The two-time 100m state champion defended his crown as a senior in 2026 while adding the 200m state title, finishing his prep career with personal best times of 10.57s in the 100m and 21.55s in the 200m. Reddick earned First Team All-State honors twice in the 100m and once in the 200m while also receiving Gazette Preps First Team recognition. A standout on the football field as well, he was a two-time First Team All-Conference running back and finished his career with 2,413 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns.
 
Matt Snyder | Distance | La Luz, N.M. | Alamogordo HS
Snyder heads to Colorado Springs after a successful career at Alamogordo High School, where he was a three-year letterwinner in both cross country and track & field. The La Luz, N.M., native earned Second Team All-State honors as a senior and posted personal-best times of 52.59s in the 400m, 2:02.05 in the 800m, 4:33.88 in the 1600m, 10:38.98 in the 3200m, and 16:16 in the 5k. Snyder also helped the Tigers capture the 2026 district championship and was part of Alamogordo's district championship 4x400m relay team.
 
Zac Southern | Sprints | Lakewood, Colo. | Wheat Ridge HS
Southern adds another talented Colorado sprinter to the Mountain Lions' incoming class following a standout career at Wheat Ridge High School. A three-year track & field letterwinner and two-year team captain, Southern posted personal best times of 10.66s in the 100m, 21.22s in the 200m, and 47.85s in the 400m while earning First Team All-Conference honors and a state medal during his prep career. In the classroom, he was a two-time Academic All-State First Team selection, three-time academic letterwinner, and AP Scholar.
 
Bryson States | Sprints/Jumps | Aurora, Colo. | Eaglecrest HS / Kit Carson HS
States brings versatility in both the sprints and horizontal jumps to the Mountain Lions after a four-year career that included stops at Eaglecrest High School and Kit Carson High School. The Aurora, Colo., native posted personal best marks of 10.80s in the 100m, 21.51s in the 200m, 49.52s in the 400m, 7.02m (23-0.25) in the long jump, and 14.59m (47-10.25) in the triple jump while earning CHSAA First Team All-State honors three times and All-State Honorable Mention recognition once. A team captain, States helped Eaglecrest claim a league championship in 2024 and finish as the state runner-up in 2025. He was also a two-time CHSAA Academic All-State First Team selection and four-time academic letterwinner.
 
Jake Swanson | Jumps | Lakewood, Colo. | Green Mountain HS
Swanson comes to UCCS following a decorated career at Green Mountain High School, where he earned First Team All-State honors and was named the Jeffco 4A Field Athlete of the Year. The Lakewood native posted personal best marks of 1.96m (6-5) in the high jump and 6.85m (22-5.5) in the long jump while competing at the state level for the Rams. In the classroom, he was a four-year Honor Roll student and earned Academic First Team recognition in track & field.

Collin Sweet | Pole Vault | New Braunfels, Texas | New Braunfels HS
Sweet heads to Colorado Springs after a strong career at New Braunfels High School, where he steadily progressed in the pole vault throughout his four prep seasons. After clearing 3.50m (11-6) as a freshman and 3.81m (12-6) as a sophomore, Sweet improved to 4.27m (14-0) during his junior campaign before establishing a personal-best clearance of 4.42m (14-6) as a senior. The New Braunfels, Texas, native earned All-District, All-Area, and All-Region recognition during his time with the Unicorns.
 
Kaito Tamura | Distance | Torrance, Calif. | West Torrance HS
Tamura joins the Mountain Lions after earning All-League, All-Area, and All-CIF honors during his standout career at West Torrance High School. A two-time state qualifier, he captured the 2025 CIF-SS Division 3 title before finishing as the California state runner-up.
 
Rowen Thompson | Sprints | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Vista Ridge HS
Thompson stays in Colorado Springs to continue his track & field career with the Mountain Lions after a four-year career at Vista Ridge High School. The sprint specialist earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the 200m in 2025 and was named the Wolves' Most Improved Athlete in 2024 while also becoming a regular contributor to Vista Ridge's relay teams, qualifying for the state championships three times in both the 4x100m and 4x200m relays and once in the 4x400m relay. Thompson also helped the Wolves earn a third-place team finish at the state championships. Away from the track, he was involved in National Honor Society and FBLA while serving in leadership roles as a Pack Peer Leader, Colorado United Track Club team leader, and church choir youth leader.
 
Keala Utsuki | Pole Vault | Honolulu, Hawaii | Punahou School
Utsuki makes the move from Hawaii to Colorado Springs after an outstanding pole vault career at Punahou School, where he was a four-year varsity athlete and served as team captain during his senior season. The Honolulu native capped his prep career by winning the 2026 Hawaii state championship and establishing an all-time Hawaii state record with a personal-best clearance of 4.70m (15-5). Utsuki also earned First Team All-Interscholastic League of Honolulu honors twice during his time at Punahou.
 
Caden Vinson | Sprints/Jumps | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Cheyenne Mountain HS
Vinson will remain in Colorado Springs to continue his track & field career with the Mountain Lions following a standout career at Cheyenne Mountain High School. A four-year varsity letterwinner in both track & field and football, Vinson capped his senior season with a runner-up finish in the long jump at the Colorado 4A State Championships on his way to earning First Team All-State honors after receiving Second Team All-State recognition as a junior. Vinson also competed at the national level during his prep career and was a member of Cheyenne Mountain's school-record 4x200m relay team. Off the track, he was involved in DECA and qualified for the state competition.
 
Julian Walker | Jumps | Concord, Calif. | Clayton Valley Charter HS
Walker makes his way to Colorado Springs after a strong high jump career at Clayton Valley Charter High School, highlighted by winning the 2026 CIF North Coast Section Meet of Champions with a personal best clearance of 2.03m (6-8). The California native was also recognized as his team's top jumper on two different occasions during his prep career. In the classroom, Walker was a four-time Honor Roll student.
 
Kaeden Wellman | Sprints/Hurdles | Chandler, Ariz. | Arizona College Prep HS
Wellman makes his way to UCCS following a decorated career at Arizona College Prep, where he established school records in the 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 400m, and 4x400m relay. A four-time Arizona State Meet competitor, Wellman posted personal best times of 14.90s in the 110m hurdles, 38.60s in the 300m hurdles, 50.60s in the 400m, and 23.10s in the 200m while also qualifying for the Arcadia Invitational and Nike Outdoor Nationals. Wellman served as a team captain in each of his final three seasons and was named the Knights' MVP in 2025. In the classroom, he maintained a 4.0-plus GPA and earned the Superintendent's Outstanding Citizenship Award.
 
Austin Wick | Distance | Bismarck, N.D. | Bismarck
Wick comes to Colorado Springs after helping lead Bismarck High School to three cross country state and conference championships while also contributing to the program's 2023 team state track title. A two-time all-state and all-conference performer, he won two state titles in the 4x800m relay, helping to establish a new school record in the event, and posted personal bests of 1:56.00 in the 800m and 4:28.00 in the mile.
 
Noah Zach | Distance | Lincoln, Neb. | Pius X
Zach joins the Mountain Lions as an eight-time letterwinner and five-time state qualifier at Pius X High School. He won consecutive state cross country championships in 2024 and 2025 and helped lead the first Nebraska team to qualify for Nike Cross Nationals.
 
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The UCCS women's track & field squad is set to add 20 student-athletes to the roster for the 2026-27 season, including 18 incoming freshmen and two transfers.
 
Sofia Carlson | Distance | Boise, Idaho | Boise HS | St. Olaf College
Carlson joins UCCS after a solid career at St. Olaf College that included NCAA All-America honors in the indoor 5,000m, three NCAA Cross Country Championship appearances, and a school record in the indoor 5,000m. A five-time All-MIAC performer and two-time USTFCCCA All-Region selection, she graduated summa cum laude and served as a two-year team captain.
 
Liv Clarke | Sprints | Castle Rock, Colo. | Castle View HS
Clarke makes the short trip south to Colorado Springs following a decorated sprints career at Castle View High School, highlighted by helping the Sabercats capture the Colorado 5A state championship in the 4x400m relay in 2024. A team captain and 10-time state championship qualifier entering her senior season, Clarke posted personal best times of 12.12s in the 100m, 25.29s in the 200m, and 57.74s in the 400m while holding school records in the 100m, 200m, 4x200m, 4x400m, and sprint medley relay. Away from the track, Clarke was a three-time academic letterwinner and member of both National Honor Society and ASL Honor Society.
 
Hayden Eggleston | Sprints | Cotopaxi, Colo. | Cotopaxi HS
Eggleston comes to UCCS following a decorated career at Cotopaxi High School that culminated with a Colorado 1A state championship in the 400m as a senior. She clocked a personal best time of 56.69s to claim the 400m title at the 2026 state championships while also finishing as the state runner-up in both the 100m and 200m, giving her 11 state medals across the sprint events during her prep career. Eggleston finished her career with personal best times of 12.40s in the 100m, 25.29s in the 200m, and 56.69s in the 400m while holding Cotopaxi school records in all three events. Off the track, she was a member of National Honor Society and served as a captain for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
 
Stella Finnestead | Multi | Temecula, Calif. | Great Oak HS
A combined athlete from California, Finnestead comes to UCCS following a four-year varsity career at Great Oak High School. The Temecula native posted personal best scores of 3,873 points in the heptathlon and 2,926 points in the indoor pentathlon while also recording top marks of 15.62s in the 100m hurdles, 47.22s in the 300m hurdles, 1.63m (5-4) in the high jump, 5.20m (17-0.75) in the long jump, and 10.41m (34-2) in the shot put. Finnestead collected numerous team awards during her prep career, including being named Great Oak's MVP as a junior. She also excelled away from competition as an All-Academic selection, academic letterwinner, and member of both the National Technical Honor Society and American Sign Language Honor Society.
 
Karolina Flanagan | Jumps | Spokane, Wash. | Gonzaga Prep
Flanagan heads to Colorado Springs following a decorated high jump career at Gonzaga Preparatory School that saw her qualify for the Washington 4A State Championships in each of her final three seasons, placing seventh as a sophomore, fifth as a junior, and sixth as a senior. A two-time First Team All-Greater Spokane League selection, Flanagan established a school-record clearance of 1.65m (5-5) in the high jump while also posting a personal-best mark of 4.81m (15-9.5) in the long jump. In the classroom, she was a three-year Honor Roll student and graduated magna cum laude while also serving on class council during her first three years of high school.
 
Sylvie Harrison | Pole Vault | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Palmer HS
Harrison stays in Colorado Springs to continue her pole vault career with the Mountain Lions following three consecutive All-State seasons at Palmer High School. She capped her prep career with a runner-up finish at the 2026 Colorado 4A State Championships, clearing 3.81m (12-6), after also finishing second at the state meet as a junior and earning Second Team All-State honors as a sophomore. Harrison established a personal best clearance of 3.84m (12-7) during her junior campaign and also competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals during her time at Palmer.
 
Victoria Juneau | Pole Vault | Edmond, Okla. | Edmond Memorial HS
Juneau comes to UCCS following a decorated career at Edmond Memorial High School that saw her excel in both track & field and cross country. The 2025 Oklahoma 6A state champion in the pole vault, Juneau continued her progression as a senior by establishing a personal best clearance of 3.94m (12-11) during the 2026 outdoor season after setting the Edmond Memorial indoor and outdoor school records as a junior. She earned All-State recognition in track & field as well as twice in cross country while helping the Bulldogs capture the 2025 6A state track & field team championship and the 2025 state cross country title. In the classroom, Juneau was a four-year Superintendent's Honor Roll selection.
 
Sontee Keys | Sprints/Jumps | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Doherty HS
Keys stays in Colorado Springs to continue her track & field career with the Mountain Lions following her prep career at Doherty High School. A versatile athlete in the sprints and horizontal jumps, Keys posted a personal best mark of 5.64m (18-6) in the long jump during her senior campaign and went on to finish 10th in the event at the 2026 Colorado 5A State Championships. She also clocked a personal best time of 25.96s in the 200m during her final season with the Spartans.
 
Allie Long | Distance | Alamo, Calif. | San Ramon Valley HS
Long joins the Mountain Lions after helping San Ramon Valley capture the 2025 East Bay Athletic League title while earning All-League honors and making consecutive CIF State Championship appearances. She posted personal bests of 5:27 in the 1600m, 11:48 in the 3200m, and 19:00 in the cross country 5K.
 
Zadie Mackey | Throws | Kiowa, Colo. | Barton CC / Elbert HS
Mackey returns to her home state of Colorado after an accomplished two-year career at Barton Community College that saw her earn NJCAA All-America honors four times. The Kiowa native posted collegiate-best marks of 13.24m (43-5.25) in the shot put, 47.30m (155-2) in the discus, 49.84m (163-6) in the hammer, and 16.73m (54-10.75) in the weight throw while helping the Cougars finish as the national runner-up at both the 2025 NJCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships and third at the 2026 outdoor national meet. Prior to Barton, Mackey competed for Elbert High School while being homeschooled and was a three-time Colorado 1A state champion in the shot put, two-time state champion in the discus, and three-time First Team All-State selection. Mackey also excelled academically at Barton, graduating with highest honors while earning Academic All-America recognition twice.
 
Marni Martin | Distance | Frederick, Colo. | Mead HS
Martin comes to UCCS as a three-time Colorado state cross country qualifier and twice earned all-state honorable mention during her career at Mead High School. She finished as the runner-up at the 2025 4A Regional Championships and recorded a personal best 5K time of 18:59.
 
MacKenzie McIntosh | Distance | Longmont, Colo. | Holy Family HS
Joining the Mountain Lions as an incoming freshman, McIntosh was one of Colorado's top all-around distance runners, earning multiple all-conference and all-region honors while setting the Holy Family 5K school record. A two-time team MVP and senior Athlete of the Year, she helped lead the Tigers to four regional titles and four state appearances.

A local product, Moore makes her way to UCCS after earning all-state and all-conference honors, finishing seventh and 14th at the Colorado 3A State Cross Country Championships in 2024 and 2025. A two-time regional and league champion, she posted a personal best 5K of 18:58.
 
Matea Moreno | Distance | Lorton, Va. | South County HS
Another addition to the Mountain Lions' distance squad, Moreno set the South County High School 5K record and finished among the top 15 at the 2025 Virginia 6A State Cross Country Championships. She recorded personal bests of 18:14 in the 5K and 2:22 in the 800m while also serving as a youth track coach.
 
Sydney Myles | Jumps | DeKalb, Ill. | DeKalb HS
Myles makes the move west to Colorado Springs following a four-year varsity career at DeKalb High School, where she earned IHSA All-State recognition in the high jump and was a three-time DuPage Valley All-Conference selection entering her senior season. A two-time team MVP, Myles established a personal-best clearance of 1.68m (5-5.25) in the high jump while also posting a best of 5.23m (17-1.75) in the long jump. A multi-sport athlete, she also earned four varsity letters in softball and received All-Conference and DeKalb Daily Chronicle All-Area recognition during her prep career. In the classroom, Myles was a National Honor Society member and earned Academic All-Conference honors across four different sports.
 
Laila Page | Sprints/Jumps | Belton, Texas | Belton HS
Page brings versatility in both the sprints and jumps to UCCS following a successful career at Belton High School. A three-time First Team All-District selection and three-time area qualifier, Page captured the district championship in the triple jump in 2025 and went on to qualify for the regional meet. She finished her prep career with personal best marks of 25.45s in the 200m, 58.28s in the 400m, 11.48m (37-8) in the triple jump, and 3.20m (10-6) in the pole vault while also earning Belton's Outstanding Vertical Jumps award three times.
 
Rylan Petree | Sprints | Rifle, Colo. | Rifle HS
Petree makes her way to Colorado Springs after a highly decorated career at Rifle High School, where she was a three-time state qualifier, three-time All-Conference selection, All-State honoree, and Western Slope League Female Athlete of the Year. A school record holder for the Bears, Petree posted personal best times of 12.78s in the 100m, 26.05s in the 200m, and 57.80s in the 400m during her prep career. Petree also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-State recognition and three academic letters while being named Rifle's Sports Exercise and Health Science Student of the Year and Chemistry Student of the Year. She also served as class president during both her junior and senior years and was a member of National Honor Society.
 
Kylah Ricks | Distance | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Homeschool
Ricks joins the Mountain Lions as a three-time Utah 3A cross country state champion and multiple-time state champion in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m in track & field. She earned numerous all-state and all-conference honors while dominating both cross country and distance events throughout her prep career.
 
Kailey Slevin | Distance | Yelm, Wash. | Yelm HS
Slevin comes to UCCS as a four-time state cross country qualifier and first-team all-league performer at Yelm High School. A two-time team captain, she recorded personal bests of 5:14 in the 1600m, 11:23 in the 3200m, and 18:37 in the 5,000 meters.
 
Abby Swigert | Distance | Los Alamos, N.M. | Los Alamos HS
Swigert rounds out the Mountain Lions' recruiting class after helping lead Los Alamos High School to three track and field state championships and the 2025 cross country state title. She placed sixth in the 1600m at the 2025 New Mexico 4A State Championships and finished 21st at the state cross country meet while posting a personal-best 19:29 5K.
