PREVIEW | Track & Field Heads to Gunnison for 2026 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

THIS WEEK'S ACTION
  • The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women's track & field teams will travel to Gunnison, Colo. for the 2026 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be hosted by Western Colorado University on February 27-28 with both days of competition set to begin at 10 a.m. The indoor conference championship meet will be contested inside WCU's Mountaineer Field House, which is recorded as the highest elevation NCAA indoor track facility in the United States at 7,723 feet.
  • The Mountain Lion men's squad has won five of the past six indoor conference championships dating back to the 2019-20 indoor season and will be competing to win their second consecutive indoor title after taking the crown last year on their home track. On the women's side, UCCS has finished as the runners-up in each of the last three seasons and will be striving to capture the indoor conference title for the first time since winning three consecutive trophies from 2020-22.
MEET INFORMATION RMAC NETWORK
  • Fans who are unable to attend in-person will be able to view both days of the 2026 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on the RMAC Network. The conference will have day passes available to purchase for $15 per day, which will give fans access to all championship broadcasts for 24 hours.
TICKETS
  • Tickets for the 2026 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships can be purchased through Hudl Tickets. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online before arriving at the facility. Tickets will be sent via email with a QR code that can be scanned at the gates when you arrive.
  • Admission Prices:
    • General Admission (Single Day): $15 + $1 Service Fee
    • Kids (6-17), Over 65, & Military (Single Day): $10 + $1 Service Fee
    • General Admission (Multi-Day): $25 + $2.54 Service Fee

  • The Mountain Lions will have a total of 87 student-athletes competing at this season's indoor conference championship meet. On the men's side, the Mountain Lions have 45 student-athletes competing across 54 individual entries and two relay entries, while the women's team is set to have 42 student-athletes competing across 67 individual entries and two relay entries.

2025-26 INDOOR TRACK & FIELD SEASON IN REVIEW
  • The Mountain Lions secured eight RMAC Athlete of the Week awards throughout the 2025-26 Indoor Track & Field season.

UCCS UNDER HEAD COACH ROSS FELLOWS
  • The 2025-26 season marks Ross Fellows' 10th season as the head coach of the UCCS men's and women's track & field programs. Under his leadership, the Mountain Lions have won a total of 19 RMAC Championship trophies (9 Indoor, 10 Outdoor), including the first indoor and outdoor conference titles in both men's and women's program history.
  • A 17-time RMAC Coach of the Year recipient, Fellows has coached a total of 126 RMAC individual event champions, eight RMAC Track Athletes of the Year, 11 RMAC Field Athletes of the Year, and four RMAC Freshman of the Year. The Mountain Lions have become perennial contenders on the national stage under the supervision of Fellows, earning 198 individual entries and 18 relay entries to the indoor and outdoor national championship meets since the start of the 2016-17 season while also recording 15 top 25 team finishes, earning 174 All-America honors, and winning six individual national championships in the same period.
  • In addition, UCCS track & field has performed well in the classroom with Fellows at the head of the program, compiling 66 RMAC All-Academic First Team honorees, six RMAC Academic Athletes of the Year, and 24 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America accolades.
NCAA DIVISION II INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
  • The participant field for the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships will be announced at approximately 4 p.m. (MT) on Tuesday, March 3. The two-day national championship meet is set to take place on March 13-14 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
  • NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field has a pre-determined field size with the national committee selecting the top 18 student-athletes in individual events, top 16 in combined events, and top 12 relay groups to compete at the national championship meet.
