1/29/2026 12:41:00 PM

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2025 USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Teams and All-Academic Athletes, recognizing both the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women's cross country programs in all four award categories.

To earn All-Academic Team honors, programs must post a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (including the most recent grading period) and record a team score at their respective regional championship, among other criteria.

The Mountain Lions women's team finished the fall semester with a 3.75 GPA while placing second at the regional meet and sixth at the NCAA National Championship. The honor marks the 19th All-Academic Team distinction in program history and the 13th consecutive season the women have earned the award.

On the men's side, UCCS recorded a 3.62 cumulative GPA, highlighted by a sixth-place finish at the regional meet in Pueblo, Colo., and a 13th-place showing at nationals. The recognition is the seventh straight All-Academic Team honor for the Mountain Lions and the 16th overall in program history.

Individual All-Academic Athlete honors require a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and a top-30 percent finish at the regional championship, among additional qualifications. A total of 15 Mountain Lion student-athletes earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete recognition.
