COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team was tabbed fourth in the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the conference office on Thursday.

UCCS received 144 points in the preseason poll, placing the Mountain Lions behind Colorado School of Mines (190), Adams State (188) and Western Colorado (163). UCCS is one of three teams with three student-athletes selected to the 2026 Preseason All-RMAC Team.

Fifth-year runners Koy Cunningham and Enzo Knapp, along with senior Brett Davis, represent UCCS on the preseason team. All three earned All-RMAC Second Team honors following the 2025 season.

The RMAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll is voted on by the league's 15 head women's cross country coaches. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team. The RMAC's preseason teams are determined by placing returning athletes in order of their finish at last year's RMAC Championship.

UCCS finished fourth at the 2025 RMAC Championship before placing sixth at the NCAA South Central Regional and 13th at the NCAA Division II Championship. The 13th-place national finish was the program's best NCAA Championship result since 2022.

The Mountain Lions received an at-large selection to the NCAA Division II Championship, marking the seventh consecutive season UCCS competed at the national meet.

Koy Cunningham earned All-RMAC Second Team and RMAC All-Academic First Team honors following the 2025 season. He competed in five meets and recorded a season and personal-best 8K time of 25:19 at the RMAC Championships, placing 25th and scoring 23 points. Cunningham also recorded a season and personal-best 10K time of 31:40.2 at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, where he placed 101st.

Brett Davis collected All-RMAC Second Team and RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2025. He competed in five meets and placed 22nd at the RMAC Championships with a time of 25:02.79, scoring 21 points. At the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, Davis recorded a personal- and season-best 10K time of 30:57.7, finishing 54th overall and leading UCCS at the national meet.

Enzo Knapp earned All-RMAC Second Team and RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll honors in 2025. He competed in five meets and placed 27th at the RMAC Championships with a time of 25:23.68, scoring 25 points. Knapp finished 45th at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional and placed 100th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships with a time of 31:40.1.
