AMARILLO, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team moved up a spot to finish the second day of the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional tied for fifth place.
Senior
Colin Prater led the Mountain Lions in the second round, shooting -5 under par (66) and is now tied for fourth overall.
Ignacio De Le Vega improved his first round score by ten strokes to finish with a +2 over par (73) performance as UCCS shot combined score of 287.
Tanner Comes was Even on the day with a 71 as
Jack Duguid and
Peter John shot a 77 and 78 respectively.
Three teams are currently tied for fifth place and are just four strokes back from Colorado Christian and Chico State who are tied for third place.
Heading into the final round on Wednesday, the Mountain Lions will need to finish in the top three to secure automatic qualification to the final, which will be held May 21-25 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
