AMARILLO, Texas – After the first round of play, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team sits in sixth place at the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional Tournament on Monday.
The Mountain Lions shot a combined 294, which is just eight strokes back from the leaders, St. Mary's (Texas).
Tanner Comes led UCCS in the round as he sits tied for sixth overall after shooting -2 under par (70).
Teammates
Jack Duguid and
Colin Prater are right behind as they shot 72 and 74 respecitvely.
St. Mary's Eric Valenzuela was dominant on the day, finishing -6 under par (66) as Oklahoma Christian's Cameron Brown is second (67). A trio of players are tied for third with a score of 69.
The second round is scheduled for Tuesday with the Mountain Lions teeing off early in the morning at 7:30 a.m. Central Time.
