MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team put together a solid showing at the Division II National Preview on Tuesday, finishing fifth in a competitive field.
The Mountain Lions shot a combined 898 (306, 290, 302) at the Roberts Trent Jones at the Shoals, which was one stroke ahead of Harding and three strokes past California Baptist.
Tanner Comes led UCCS with a +2 over par performance, shooting a 218 (73, 72, 73) to finish tied for fourth place.
Jack Duguid was tied for 11
th after shooting 221 (73, 72, 76) while
Colin Prater was tied for 21
st with a 225 (79, 72, 74).
Limestone won the tournament with an 882 (301, 292, 289) as Emilio Gonzales of St. Mary's (Texas) was first overall with a -1 under par performance with a score of 215 (71, 72, 72).
The Mountain Lions are back in action next Monday and Tuesday when they take part in Western New Mexico's Mustang Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz.
