DANIELS, W.V. – Competing in their first tournament of the 2018-19 season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team is currently tied for sixth place at the NCAA Division II Preview, hosted by Georgia Southwestern University at the Cobb Course at Glad Springs in Daniels, W.V. (par 72, 7,080 yards).  The Mountain Lions opened the tournament with a 295 in the first round, but cut off nine strokes in the second round for a two round total of 581.
 
Lynn University leads the 17-team tournament with a 12-under par 556.  Six teams from last year's NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament are competing in this year's Division II Preview, including defending national champion Lynn University.
 
The Mountain Lions, who finished ninth at last year's national tournament, are led by Jack Duguid.  Duguid is tied for 11^th place with a 142 score after shooting a 73, followed by two-under par 69.
 
Tanner Comes and newcomer Clay McCrory are tied for 18^th place with a two-over par 144.  Comes posted a 72 in the first two rounds.  McCrory started the tournament tallying a 74 in the first round but finished the day with a 70.
 
Rounding out the Mountains Lions are Isaac Spillum and Ignacio de La Vega.  Spillum's 154 is tied for 74^th overall while de La Vega is one stroke behind in 78^th place.
 
Jorge Villar of Lynn University leads all 90 golfers after recording an eight-under par 134.
 
The third and final round of the tournament will begin Tuesday morning.
