BELLINGHAM, Wash. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs senior golfer
Colin Prater used a 4-under 68 today and tied for third after the final round of the Western Washington Invitational at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
Tanner Comes tied for No. 10 as the Mountain Lions put two golfers in the top 10 in an eighth-place team finish.
Prater made four birdies today in his best round of the early season. He finished the tournament with a 7-under 209 in the 15th top-five finish of his career. Prater has shot at or below par in the last 13 rounds dating back to April 4.
Comes turned in a 75 in today's round and earned his fourth top-10 finish with a 1-under 215 in three rounds. He finished with two birdies in the last three holes and posted his best tournament score since the Mustang Intercollegiate in April.
Jack Duguid made improvement in each round this week and finished with a 74 today after a 76 yesterday morning and a 75 in the afternoon. He tied for No. 45 overall with a 9-over 225.
Isaac Spillum provided the final scorecard for the Mountain Lions with his second straight round of 76.
UCCS recorded a 5-over 293 today and finished the tournament with a 10-over 874 this week. The Mountain Lions finished three strokes behind sixth-place University of Victoria and host Western Washington.
The Mountain Lions will be off next week ahead of the fall RMAC event Oct. 9-10, in Durango, Colo.
