Ji Jang led the Mountain Lions with a 2-over 74 in today's final round and both finished in the top 20 overall to lead UCCS at the East-West Invitational at The Course at Wente Vineyards. The Mountain Lions finished eighth with a score of 931 for 67 strokes over par.
Comes recorded three birdies today and went 2-under on the back nine. He finished in a tie for No. 12 in the overall standings with a 10-over 226 in three rounds. It was his third top-15 finish of the season. Jang matched his second round performance from yesterday and improved eight spots into a tie for No. 20 on the leaderboard. He was even on the front nine with a birdie on hole eight.
Colin Prater finished a stroke back from Comes and Jang with a 3-over 75, and tied for No 27 at 16-over par.
Blake Young rounded out the Mountain Lion team score today with an 84.
UCCS placed five strokes behind Concordia University of Oregon in the second tournament of the spring season. The Mountain Lions will continue the season at the Bob Writz Invitational March 18-19 at Bear Creek Golf Club in Lakewood, Colo.
