REUNION, Fla. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team wrapped up the NCAA Division II National Preview on Wednesday as
Colin Prater led the Mountain Lions with -1 under par performance.
Prater shot a 215 (74, 71, 70) for the Mountain Lions to finish tied for 19
th overall, who were the lone Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The junior has finished under par in all three tournaments this fall.
Teammate
Tanner Comes also improved in his final round as he finished tied for 56 with a score of 222 (77, 74, 71) to end the tournament 6 over par.
Ji Jang,
Zach Berhost, and
Dylan Mitchell all finished within three strokes of each other as Jang shot a 229 (81, 73, 75) as Berhost (77, 74, 81) and Mitchell (80, 78, 74) each shot a 232.
Lynn University won the tournament with a team score of 845 (280, 280, 285) as Florida Southern took medalist honors with a -11 under par performance of 205 (65, 69, 71).
The three-round tournament, which was held on the Watson Course at Reunion Resort, saw UCCS finish 14
th out of a competitive 18-team field. Fourteen of the 18 teams in the tournament, including UCCS, are either nationally ranked or receiving votes in the latest Golfweek Division II National Coaches Poll. The top five teams in the nation are all in the tournament field.
It is the same course that will host the national championships in May.
UCCS is back in action Oct. 10-11 when they compete in the RMAC #2, which will be held at the Tiara Rado Golf Club in Grand Junction.
