SEASIDE, Calif. –
Colin Prater recorded his ninth top-five finish of his career and fourth of the season with a 1-under 215 to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs at the Otter Invitational at Bayonet Golf Course. The Mountain Lions tied for eighth with a 32-over 896 in the final tournament of the fall season.
Prater shot a 2-over 74 and shared the team lead in today's round with
Ji Jang. Prater finished with a score below par in all five tournaments this fall and averaged 69.8 strokes in the 15 rounds this season. Jang recorded his best round of the week today and finished with a 13-over 229.
Zach Berhost cut nine strokes off of his best score yesterday with a 75 today and
Tanner Comes added his own 75 to close out the Mountain Lion team score. Comes recorded the second-best tournament performance on the team at six strokes over par and tied for No. 22 overall with a 222.
UCCS went 10-over today as a team with a 298 to match Monday morning's score and tied with Western Washington in the overall standings. The Mountain Lions finish the fall as the RMAC regular season co-champions and won last week's RMAC No. 2 event in Grand Junction, Colo.
The Mountain Lions will be off for the winter before the spring season resumes in March 2017.
