BEND, Ore. - Patrick Skakel shot a 74 in the second round and finished with a two-round total of 153 to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs after the first day of the GolfWeek Division II Fall Invitational today at the Sunriver Resort. The Mountain Lions are No. 11 among the 15 teams.
Skakel split his four birdies between the two rounds and improved his score by five strokes from the first to the second. He finished holes one through nine at 1-under par during his second round.
Stephen Cook is tied for No. 28, an improvement of eight positions, after the second round at 14 strokes over par. He improved his second round score by six strokes, helped by birdies on holes 3 and 18, for a total score of 158.
Dustin Dalzell improved to six strokes over par in the second right with a birdie on hole 7 and
Dylan Mitchell shot an 82 in both rounds for the fourth score for the Mountain Lions.
Zach Tripp improved by nine strokes in the second round to close out the Mountain Lion golfers in the tournament.
UCCS will begin the third and final round at 10:30 a.m. MDT.
