DeLashmutt Finishes Third, Mountain Lions Sixth at Saint Martin's

DuPONT, Wash. - Eddie DeLashmutt finished with a 72 to finish at or below par for the fourth time in his last five rounds to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with a third place individual finish in the Saint Martin's Preview today at The Home Course. The Mountain Lions finished sixth as a team with a team score of six shots over par.

DeLashmutt finished the tournament with a 210 over the three rounds for six shots under par and the best tournament for a Mountain Lion this season. He led the field with an average of 4.33 on par five holes and was second among the 81 golfers with 13 birdies.

Kevin Witte matched DeLashmutt's third round performance and finished the tournament with a 218 and two shots over par. The two-time RMAC Golfer of the Week finished second for the Mountain Lions and No. 23 overall. He lowered his spring average to 73 shots per round after this week's tournament.

Spencer Biersdorff and Grant Dean both finished with a 74 in the third round as the final scores for UCCS. Biersdorff shot par on 43 of the 54 holes for the second-best mark in the tournament. He finished with a 222 along with Conrad Isley, who shot 76 on his final round. Dean finished with a tournament score of 225 and placed No. 57 overall.

UCCS finished with the best team score of the spring season and the third-best team score of the 2012-13 season. The Mountain Lions finished 13 shots off the lead and was the top placer among the three RMAC teams in the event. Colorado Mines, who was ranked No. 21 in the latest GolfWorld national poll, tied for ninth and Colorado State-Pueblo tied for No. 11.

The Mountain Lions will play within the state of Colorado next week for the CSU-Pueblo Wolf Pack Invitational at the Walking Stick Golf Course April 15-16. It will be the final tournament before the RMAC Championships April 22-23 in Phoenix, Ariz.
