COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team (6-2, 3-2 RMAC) will hit the road en route to Grand Junction, Colo., to take on the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa University (4-5, 3-2 RMAC) on Sunday.

The Mountain Lions will look to get back on track after tough one goal losses to RMAC foes No. 8 Colorado Mines (8-0-1, 5-0 RMAC) and defending regular season RMAC champions, Regis University (2-4-1, 0-3-1 RMAC). 

Although the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa were off to a slow start, they are fresh off of three shutout victories over CSU- Pueblo (3-5, 0-5 RMAC), Regis, and Western State (4-4-1, 1-3-1 RMAC). 

Senior midfielder Tayler Franklin leads the Mavs offense with three goals and two assists for eight points while fellow senior Leilani Wiernicki has dished out four assists from the defensive line. Goalkeeper Sarah Schnetzler now has four shutout wins on the season and has allowed ten goals in nine games. 

Three of the last four meetings between UCCS and CMU have been overtime battles, including last year's 2-2 tie in double overtime. CMU got on the board with two early goals but the Mountain Lions clawed their way back with a pair of goals to force overtime. Agnes Arnadottir, Hannah Levett, and Ella Bump dished out helpers and sophomore defender Jessie Gruelich notched a goal in the game. 

UCCS will look to revive their offensive threat in Sunday's matchup after being held relatively quiet in their last two games. The Mountain Lions boast five different players in the top 10 of RMAC offensive categories, including sophomore midfielder Brooke Tominello, who leads the conference in assists with five. 

Game time is set for 3 p.m. and will be held at Walker Field in Grand Junction, Colo.
