COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Freshman Lucy Kapranos and Senior Abby Stassi collected Week 1 RMAC Players of the Week honors on Tuesday, with Kapranos being named the Goalkeeper of the Week, and Stassi being named Offensive Player of the Week.

For the first time this season and third time in her collegiate career, Stassi earns Offensive Player of the Week the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced this morning, as she led all RMAC players with three goals and two game-winners.

In week one of the 2026 campaign, the Mountain Lions scored seven goals, with three of those coming from Stassi. The senior forward hailing from Highlands Ranch, Colo. began the week with a brace in a 6-2 victory over Point Loma Nazarene University on Thursday night. Her first goal came within the first minute of action off the assist from Brooke Pavlich. Stassi's second goal against PLNU came in the 62^nd minute of gameplay and would end up being the game-winner.

Stassi's scoring did not stop on Thursday, as she went on to net the only goal of the game against No. 18 Western Washington University on Sunday afternoon. In just the fourth minute of action, Elise Broberg lined up a free kick from 40 yards out and sent it to the middle of the box for a header by Stassi. The Mountain Lions would go on to win 1-0 and hand WWU its first home loss since the 2024 season.

After her first week of collegiate action, Freshman Kapranos earns Goalkeeper of the Week the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced this morning, as she notched seven saves in two matches along with her first clean sheet against No. 18 Western Washington University.

In week one of the 2026 campaign, the Mountain Lions allowed just two goals on 11 shots on target. The freshman goalkeeper hailing from Portland, Ore. began the week with her first collegiate win in a 6-2 victory over Point Loma Nazarene University. Kapranos' second win as a Mountain Lion was also her first clean sheet in a tight 1-0 victory over No. 18 WWU.  Her six-save performance was enough to shut out a team that had not gone scoreless in a home match since 2024. The highlight of Kapranos' week came in the 49^th minute of action against Western Washington, as she was left to make a sprawling save with her left leg against a defender on a breakaway and preserve the second UCCS win of the season.
  
Kapranos, Stassi, and the Mountain Lions return home this week for matchups against St. Edward's University and No. 5 Dallas Baptist University. The weekend action will kick off on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Mountain Lion Stadium before a 12 p.m. match on Sunday.
