COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team (6-1, 3-1 RMAC) are looking for their first program win against Regis University (2-4-1, 0-3-1 RMAC) when they host the Rangers this Friday. 

Friday's matchup will be the third consecutive game played at Mountain Lion Stadium. Last Wednesday UCCS moved to 6-0 on the season with a 2-0 shutout victory over Colorado Christian (4-4, 1-3 RMAC). Two days later, the Mountain Lions suffered their first loss of the season to undefeated No. 8 Colorado Mines (7-0-1, 4-0 RMAC).

UCCS is off to the best start in program history and they will look for that momentum to carry them through a tough matchup with Regis. The Mountain Lions have yet to secure a win over the powerhouse Rangers and hold a 0-6 all-time series record. 

The last two meetings between UCCS and Regis have been grueling defensive battles. In 2011, the Mountain Lions held Regis off the scoreboard for over 100 minutes of play before losing a 0-1 heartbreaker in double overtime. In their only meeting of 2012, UCCS entered the game undefeated and ranked No. 11 in the nation before suffering a 1-2 loss in Denver to the RMAC Regular Season Champions. Brooke Tominello scored the lone goal for UCCS, assisted by Hannah Rather. 

The Rangers are off to an uncharacteristically tough start to the 2013 season and have yet to win a conference game. Regis currently sits in the 10th spot of the 11 member RMAC field. The Ranger offense is ranked 10th with eight goals scored in seven games. Meanwhile, the defense has the highest GAA in the conference, giving up 11 goals in their seven games. 

A well-balanced attack has been key for the Mountain Lions in 2013, as five different players are ranked in the top 10 for RMAC offensive categories. Senior forward Agnes Arnadottir leads the conference in both goals (5) and points (11).  Junior forward Hannah Levett isn't far behind with goals to her credit. 

Senior goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder leads an unrelenting UCCS defense that is ranked No. 11 in the nation for GAA. Schroeder has five shutouts to her credit and has only allowed three goals in seven games this season.

Game time is set for 5 p.m. at Mountain Lion Stadium. The UCCS men's soccer team will square off against Regis' men's team immediately following at 7:30 p.m.
