Nick Lemley ran new season bests in both hurdle races and
Caleb Simons ran a season best in the 400-meter dash as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs competed at the Colorado School of Mines Pre-Conference Meet at the Stermole Complex.
Lemley finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with 58.77 seconds for an altitude-adjusted improvement of nearly 1.5 seconds when converted to 58.88. He lowered his adjusted 110-meter hurdle time by more than two-tenths of a second with 16.78 seconds off of a raw time of 16.74 seconds. Lemley finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles.
Simons ran 51.06 seconds in the 400 dash for a sea level time of 51.17 seconds. It was more than eight-tenths of a second faster than his previous best from the season-opening Jerry Quiller Classic. He was also the top Mountain Lion in the 200-meter dash with a raw time of 23.37 seconds.
Rob Scrivner ran 4:22.57 in the 1,500-meter run for an altitude-adjusted time of 4:15.53 for just more than a second off his best time this season. Nick Lehman ran an adjusted time of 2:10.87 in the 800-meter run and
Ricardo Malta ran an adjusted 11.79 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
UCCS will be back in action at the RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 1-3 at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl at Colorado State-Pueblo.
