AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team competed at a trio of meets across the country on Friday and saw strong performances across the board as the men's and women's squads combined for seven NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks.

HOW IT HAPPENED | 98th CLYDE LITTLEFIELD TEXAS RELAYS
- The Mountain Lions raced to a 16th place finish out of 28 teams in the men's 4x400m relay with freshman Revano Plummer, redshirt junior Andrew Muncy, senior Sebastien Jean, and freshman Joshua Gross coming together to post an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:13.31 in their first relay effort of the outdoor season.
- UCCS was the first NCAA Division II team across the finish line in the women's 4x100m relay as junior Zane Bullock, junior Taryn Fettig, freshman Katie Jewell, and redshirt senior Madissyn Moore teamed up for a season-best time of 46.70s that placed them 20th overall in the 34-team field. In the men's 4x100m relay, the Mountain Lions' squad of freshman Noah Brown, freshman Michael Ryan Cruzado, junior Zamari Burrell, and freshman Revano Plummer came up just shy of their season-best in the event with a time of 40.95s that was the third-fastest among NCAA Division II competitors and put them 20th overall out of 31 teams.
- Junior Krissie Sanders was the eighth overall finisher out of 31 competitors in the timed final section of the women's 100m hurdles as she posted a time of 14.24s, while freshman Colette Bibeault claimed 11th place in a season-best time of 14.47s.
- In the timed final section of the women's 100m dash, junior Zane Bullock was the first Mountain Lion to cross the finish line as she claimed 36th place with a season-best time of 12.00s and she was followed closely in the event standings by junior Taryn Fettig, who earned a 39th place finish with a time of 12.02s. Freshman Noah Brown was the lone UCCS student-athlete competing in the timed final section of the men's 100m dash and he proceeded to clock a time of 10.63s that place him 38th overall in the field.
- Redshirt senior Madissyn Moore notched a season-best mark in the women's long jump as she put forth a leap of 5.63m on her third attempt of the day to secure a 10th place finish in the event. On the men's side, redshirt junior KJ McInnis was the seventh overall finisher in the long jump as he recorded a mark of 6.88m in his lone fair attempt of the competition.
- The Mountain Lions had a pair of student-athletes competing in throws events on Friday and saw senior Kyle Demos post a 16th place finish in the men's discus throw with a mark of 45.79m while redshirt junior Kane Fobare took 12th place in the men's shot put with a toss of 13.74m.
- Freshman Jason Lomosi and sophomore Realiti Smith closed out the action from Austin, Texas in the men's triple jump as Lomosi finished sixth overall in the competition with a season and personal best leap of 14.35m and Smith claimed 11th overall with a mark of 13.83m.
HOW IT HAPPENED | BOBCAT INVITATIONAL
- Senior Michael Roberts put together a massive performance in the men's hammer throw as he unleashed a personal best and improved NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 61.77m for a third place finish out of 32 competitors in Section B of the event.
- Redshirt sophomore Josiah Billington added another NCAA provisional qualifying effort in Section A of the men's long jump as he posted a mark of 7.39m for a 12th place finish in the event. Freshman Jayden Nohr was the 16th place finisher in the competition as he leapt to a season and personal best mark of 7.19m.
- UCCS added two more NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the women's 400m hurdles as Sanders raced to a time of 1:00.68 for a fourth place finish out 36 competitors in the race and senior Abigail Frey posted a personal best time of 1:01.83 for a 12th place finish. Freshman Colette Bibeault also notched a personal best in the event, finishing 19th overall with a time of 1:03.21.
- In Section B of the women's shot put, senior Savannah Jorgens notched a season-best mark of 13.56m to grab a third place finish out 19 throwers in the competition. Senior Kyle Demos and redshirt junior Kane Fobare represented the Mountain Lions in Section B of the men's shot put competition and wound up securing the top two spots in the event standings as Demos finished first overall with a toss of 15.39m and Fobare finished second overall with a mark of 15.01m.
- In the women's pole vault, senior Brooke Peterson finished 10th overall in Section A of the event as she cleared a bar height of 3.75m, coming up just shy of her season-best of 3.79m that she recorded in the outdoor opener.
- After spending her morning in Austin at the Texas Relays, Moore made the short trip over to San Marcos to compete in Section A of the women's long jump and nearly put up an identical mark to her earlier competition as she reached a mark of 5.62m for a 22nd place finish overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED | MIKE FANELLI TRACK CLASSIC
- Junior Brett Davis put forth an incredible performance in the men's 5,000m race as he bested the 207-person field for a first-place finish in the competition with a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14:00.73.
- Redshirt senior Molly Breuer added another NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the women's 3,000m steeplechase as she finished less than a second off her personal best in the event with a time of 10:43.20 that placed her second overall in the 63-person field.
- Redshirt junior Joseph Impellitteri took down his own school record in the men's 3,000m steeplechase as he raced to a personal best time of 9:11.90 for a ninth place finish out of 51 competitors in the event.
- In the women's 5,000m race, redshirt sophomore Madison Brosig came up less than a second shy of the NCAA provisional qualifying threshold in the event with a personal best time of 16:54.85 that was good for 28th place in the 169-person field. Junior Emma Montoya also notched a personal best effort in the competition, finishing 54th overall with a time of 17:14.80.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- UCCS recorded updates to the top five lists in the outdoor record book for five different events during their competition on Friday, including the men's 5,000m, women's 5,000m, women's 400m hurdles, men's 3,000m steeplechase, and men's hammer throw.
