COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the major award winners and all-conference recipients for the 2026 outdoor track & field season on Friday with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women's squads combining to earn a total of 64 All-RMAC honors and head coach
Ross Fellows being selected as the RMAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Coach of the Year.
Colorado Mesa University's Mateo Casados was selected as the RMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive outdoor season, while Chadron State College's Chayton Bynes repeated as the RMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Year. Adams State University's Thibault Tauziede was named the RMAC Men's Freshman of the Year, with Colorado School of Mines' Matt Sparks being voted as the RMAC Men's Coach of the Year.
New Mexico Highlands University's Patreece Clark and Mines' Emily LaMena were tabbed as the RMAC Women's Co-Track Athletes of the Year, while Colorado State University Pueblo's Febe Wessels was voted as the RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year. Sierra Wall of Mines was selected as the RMAC Women's Freshman of the Year, while Sparks was named the RMAC Women's Co-Coach of the Year alongside Fellows.
All major awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches. First Team All-RMAC consists of the top three individual finishers from each event and the first-place relay teams at the RMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Second Team All-RMAC consists of the fourth, fifth and sixth place individual finishers, along with the second-place relay teams.
Fellows secured RMAC Coach of the Year honors for the 18
th time in his career after leading the Mountain Lion women's team to another impressive outdoor season. The UCCS women's squad put forth a dominant showing at the 2026 RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo. as they secured the outdoor conference title for the second straight season and sixth time in program history with a program-record 227.33 points, outscoring second-place Colorado Mesa University by 120 points. Under Fellows' leadership, the Mountain Lions had four student-athletes qualify for to compete across five individual entries at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships and saw three of them land USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors, including
Krissie Sanders (400m Hurdles),
Kate Henderson (3,000m Steeplechase), and
Molly Breuer (3,000m Steeplechase).
The Mountain Lion men's and women's teams combined to record 64 All-RMAC accolades at the 2026 RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, including 32 on the men's side and 32 on the women's side.
