COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team dropped game four of the series against Metropolitan State University of Denver 6-29 on senior day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roadrunners came out of the gates swinging and recorded eight runs on seven hits, including three doubles and a two RBI triple from second baseman Marques Abulhosn in the first inning, forcing UCCS starter Gerrit Erickson out of the game early.
- The MSU Denver tacked on five more runs in the second thanks to a bases loaded hit by pitch and two walks issued by Mountain Lion reliever Parker Cordova before he got pulled. Joshua Zotto came in and gave up a two-run single before escaping the jam trailing 0-13.
- The Mountain Lions answered in the bottom half of the second as Tyler Genrich blasted a two-out two-run home run just right of the centerfield batters eye for his 16th long fly of the season.
- After a scoreless top of the third inning Quinn Medin lead off the bottom of the frame with a solo home run over the left field fence for his first of the season. Bryce Peterson later doubled and scored on a James Harbison single making the score 4-13.
- MSU Denver tacked on one more run in the fourth inning to make the score 4-14 after a throwing error allowed centerfielder Brooks Rasmussen to score.
- UCCS continued to chip away, scoring two more runs in their half of the fourth, off an RBI double from Bryce Peterson and RBI groundout from James Harbison to make the score 6-14 in favor of MSU Denver.
- The Roadrunners responded with a solo home run off the bat of Alek Martinez to extend their lead 6-15.
- MSU Denver exploded for 10 runs in the fifth inning, highlighted with a grand slam hit by Royce Vandine followed immediately by a solo blast from Alek Martinez as the score ballooned to 6-25.
- The Roadrunners tacked on four more runs in the seventh inning, with three coming from an Abulhson home run and extended their lead to 6-29.
- MSU Denver closed out the game in the bottom of the seventh and won via mercy rule 6-29.

GAME STATISTICS
- Tyler Genrich and Bryce Peterson led the Mountain Lions in RBIs with two a piece, Genrich's coming with his second inning home run while Peterson doubled twice, driving in one run each time.
- Peterson was the only Mountain Lion with multiple hits with his two doubles. Genrich reached base with a walk alongside his home run joining Peterson as the only UCCS hitter to reach base safely multiple times.
- Gerrit Erickson (5-3) received the loss today, only recording two outs while giving up eight runs on six hits and two walks.
- Joshua Zotto pitched well, only allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits in 3.1 innings while striking out two and not walking any batters.
- Nolan Livsey (5-0) received the win for the Roadrunners, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks in 4.0 innings pitched.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Quinn Medin's home run in the third inning was his first of the season and second as a Mountain Lion.
- Bryce Peterson's two RBIs gives him a program record 64 on the season. Genrich moves into a tie with Caleb Stubbings in 2022 for second with 63 as well.
