GREENWOOD, Ind. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions earn the baseball program's fifth honoree with Academic All-America distinction, as Bryce Peterson is recognized for his academic and athletic prowess on the Second Team.

The 2025-26 Academic All-America® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Bryce Peterson, who earned his first RMAC All-Academic First Team selection and his first All-District selection, is elevated to Academic All-America on the Second Team. The Business major earned an impressive 3.913 cumulative GPA during his college career. Moving to second base for the first time in his career this season, Peterson looked right at home in the middle of the diamond. Peterson recorded 83 putouts and 151 assists in 243 chances, only committing nine errors on the season. Turning 28 double plays, Peterson proved himself as one of the most valuable defenders in the country. At the plate, Peterson led the region in hits with 92, finishing the season with an impressive .423 average. He scored 65 runs, driving in another 67 runs which were both in the top 40 of Division II players, and top 10 in the South-Central Region. Peterson and fellow middle infielder Trevor Dale became the first two players to earn first team All-America selections from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, DII Conference Commissioner's Association, American Baseball Coaches Association, and D2 Baseball.

The Mountain Lions won a program record 33 games in 2026, setting numerous team records and boasting one of the best offenses in college baseball.
