Gerrit Erickson Earns National Gold Glove Award from American Baseball Coaches

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the selections to the organization's 2026 Gold Glove Teams, spanning all divisions of NCAA Baseball as well as NJCAA, NAIA, and High School. Gerrit Erickson of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs earns the award for Division II pitchers after a stellar spring to close out his collegiate career.

The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards are selected by ABCA coaches committees at each level: NCAA Div. I, II & III, NAIA, NJCAA Div. I, II & III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. Rudy Garbalosa of Lynn University serves as Chair of the ABCA NCAA DII All-America & Coach of the Year Committee. Committee members also include Jim Gantt (Catawba College), Rick Giannetti (Dominican University), Dave Hajek (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs), Ryan Kelley (Wayne State University), Alex Koch (Wayne State College), Marc Marizzaldi (Seton Hill University) and Paul Svagdis (Westmont College).

Gerrit Erickson showed of his elite defense as the best defensive pitcher in the conference, recording 17 assists, and eight putouts in 25 chances, never recording an error. He helped turn two double plays, while keeping runners close, and picking off four from the mound. Erickson turned in his best season with UCCS in 2026, posting career marks in ERA (7.92), Wins (6), and strikeouts (38). Erickson finished his career with perhaps his strongest performance in a 7.0 inning win over CSU Pueblo in the first round of the RMAC tournament, downing the ThunderWolves 15-3. Erickson struck out seven while allowing just two earned runs on five hits.
