COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball program has added Nick Emanuel as the program's first full time assistant coach. He will join Head Coach Tanner Spencer in the transition from the University of Mary ahead of the 2027 NCAA Baseball Season.

"Coach Emanuel is the perfect fit for Mountain Lion baseball," said UCCS Head Baseball Coach Tanner Spencer. "Nick is an exceptional offensive and catching coach and developer. More importantly he's an exceptional relationship builder and developer of men! We are thrilled to have Nick in a Mountain Lion uniform!"

Nick Emanuel joined the University of Mary baseball staff as an assistant coach in July 2025, bringing four seasons of collegiate coaching experience along with professional playing experience and a successful season in the Northwoods League. In addition to his role with the Marauders, Emanuel served as the Coordinator of Athletics Facilities.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue working beside Coach Spencer and be a member of an athletic department with a winning tradition," Emanuel shared about his appointment.

Prior to arriving at UMary, Emanuel spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire after beginning his collegiate coaching career at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he served on staff from 2021-24. During the summer of 2024, he was the hitting, catching and third base coach for the La Crosse Loggers of the Northwoods League, helping guide the club to a Great Plains Division championship while setting team records for runs scored and stolen bases.

A native of Esko, Minnesota, Emanuel played professionally with the Great Falls Voyagers of the MLB Partner Pioneer League from 2021-23. During his professional career, he posted a .284 batting average with a .441 on-base percentage in 2021 before improving to a .307 batting average in 2022.

Before beginning his professional career, Emanuel was a standout catcher at NCAA Division I North Dakota State University from 2017-21. He graduated as the Bison's career leader in fielding percentage (.995), served as team captain during his senior season, helped lead NDSU to the 2021 Summit League Championship and NCAA Regional appearance, and earned Summit League All-Tournament Team honors.

Emanuel earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Communication from North Dakota State in 2021 with minors in Business Administration and Sociology, along with certificates in Professional Selling and Coaching. Emanuel and his wife, Hannah, will make the move from Bismarck, North Dakota later this month.
