Despite McDermott's pitching effort, the Roadrunners would plate an unearned run in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 2-0.
  • The Mountain Lions would break up the no hitter in the fifth inning as Tyler Genrich hit a solo shot of his own to center field to make it a 2-1 ball game. With the bases soon loaded with one out, Medin lined into a double play to center field as the 2-0 UCCS lead remained heading into the third inning.
