COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team launch nine home runs en route to doubleheader sweep of Colorado School of Mines on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME ONE
- In the top of the first, the Orediggers got a runner on early at second with one out. Ryder Mancuso responded with his first strikeout of the game and a groundout to get out of the inning. In the bottom of the first, Brendan Killeen walked and Bryce Peterson singles to get runners on early. With one out, Trevor Dale hit a ball to dead center off the batter's eye in a bases clearing triple. Nolan Oliver followed up by hitting a single up the middle to drive in Dale, as the Mountain Lions take a 3-0 lead.
- In the top of the second, Mines hit a single with one out, but Mancuso bounced back with a groundout and his second strikeout of the game. In the bottom of the second, a fielding error by the second baseman allowed Tyler Buchman to reach second. A walk and a fielder's choice loaded the bases with one out. Peterson stepped up to the plate and launched a ball to left field for a grand slam. Tyson Mayberry followed that up with a homerun to right center. A hit-by-pitch and single got runners on the corners. Unfortunately, the Mountain Lions couldn't capitalize on the runners as they didn't score any more runs.
- In the top of the third, the Orediggers hit back-to-back singles with no outs. A fielding error allowed the two runners to score. Mines followed that up with a double down the line to drive in their third run. Mancuso bounced back with his third strikeout and groundout, but the runner advanced to third. But Mancuso got his fourth strikeout to get out of the inning. Ruben Velasco led off the bottom of the third with a walk. A single allowed Velasco to advance to third with two outs but couldn't capitalize on the runner in scoring position.
- In the top of the fourth, the Orediggers led off with a double to left center. A sacrifice bunt advanced the runner to third. This was followed with a groundout that allowed the runner on third to score. Mines then hit a two out triple to right center, but a groundout got Mancuso out of the inning. In the bottom of the fourth, Mayberry led off with a double to left field. A groundout advanced the runner to third and Tyler Genrich hit a single through the right side to drive in Mayberry.
- In the top of the fifth, Mines hit another leadoff single, but Mancuso struck out the next batter for his fifth strikeout of the game. Mines followed up with another single, but a groundout double play got Mancuso and the Mountain Lions out of the two-runner jam. Velasco led off the bottom of the fifth with a single and stole second. Quinn Medin followed it with an infield single that advanced the runner to third. Killeen hit a sacrifice fly to score Velasco, and Medin followed up with a solen base and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher. A single by Peterson allowed Medin to score. Mayberry and Dale followed this up with back-to-back home runs, extending the lead by three. With two outs, Genrich doubled and Buchman singled to score Genrich. Velasco followed this up with an infield single and Medin walked, which loaded the bases. But a groundout got the Orediggers out of the inning.
- In the top of the sixth, the Orediggers went down in order, as Mancuso got his sixth strikeout of the game. In the bottom of the sixth, the Mines pitcher walked three Mountain Lions to load the bases with one out. Genrich stepped up and hit a single up the middle to drive in two runs. Buchman followed up with a single to center field to score one run. With runners at the corners and two outs, Medin hit a ground-rule double to drive in another run. At the end of the sixth, the Mountain Lions led 19-4.
- In the top of the sixth, the Orediggers went down in order, as Mancuso completed the game via Mercy Rule.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME TWO
- In the top of the first, the Orediggers got a runner on second early with one out. The runner was picked off by the Mountain lions, leaving the bases empty. A groundout got Jacob Brown out of the inning. In the bottom of the first, Medin reached on an infield single and stole second. A walk to Killeen, a wild pitch, and a stolen base by Killeen put runners in scoring position with one out. Harbison grounded out, but Medin was able to score.
- The Orediggers led off the top of the second with back-to-back singles. A sacrifice bunt put the runners in scoring position with one out. Brown was able to get a lineout, but a double to center field allowed the runners to score as Mines took a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the second, the Mountain Lions could not capitalize on a runner on first, as they did not score.
- In the top of the third, a hit by pitch and a walk allowed the Orediggers to have runners on first and second with two outs. Brown was able to get out of the inning with a flyout to center field. In the bottom of the third, a hit by pitch and single had runners at first and second with one out. Harbison stepped up and hit a moonshot home run to left center. Dale followed up with a home run to center field. With two outs, Genrich hit a home run to right center, making it three home runs in the third inning.
- In the top of the fourth, the Orediggers went down in order as Brown got his first two strike outs of the game. In the bottom of the fourth, two back-to-back walks to Velasco and Medin and a single by Killeen loaded the bases with no outs for UCCS. Peterson came up and hit a single, which allowed every runner to move up one base, scoring one run. Dale came up and hit into a fielder's choice, which scored one run. A throwing error loaded the bases up with two outs. Genrich followed up with an infield single, and a Gonzalez walk allowed two runs to score. A wild pitch allowed the runner at third to score, advancing the other runners to second and third. Velasco stepped up to the plate and hit a single to right field, clearing the bases and scoring the two runners.
- In the top of the fifth, the Orediggers led off with back-to-back singles. This was followed up with an RBI double, scoring the runner on second and advancing the runner on first to third. A groundout scored another runner and advanced the runner on second to third. But Brown got a shallow flyout and groundout to get the last two outs of the inning. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, Peterson hit a solo home run right center. With two outs, Dale hit his second home run in the game and 21st of the season.
- In the top of the sixth, Christian Klehr came into the game for Brown and struck out the first two batters. The third batter lined out, as the Orediggers went down in order. In the bottom of the sixth, the Mountain Lions went down in order.
- In the top of the seventh, Mason Hartle replaced Klehr. Back-to-back doubled from Mines allowed the Orediggers to score a run. A groundout advanced the runner to third, and a single scored the runner. Another single and a walk loaded the bases for the Orediggers. A hit-by-pitch scored another run for Mines, which ended the night for Hartle and Devon Alvarado came in to replace him. Alvarado got out of the bases loaded jam, only giving up one run as the Mountain Lions won 15-8.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Trevor Dale's three home runs on the day means he has 21 home runs on the season, which breaks the previous single-season record of 20 home runs from Zach Hall in 2018.
- The three separate back-to-back home runs the Mountain Lions scored was the most they have ever had in a day of play.
