HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mavericks would take the first lead in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on a UCCS error.

- The Mountain Lions took their first lead in the seventh inning, as again it was Trevor Dale doing damage at the plate, this time blasting one out to left to put UCCS in front 2-1.
- The Mavericks got back to even at 2-2 in the same fashion in the bottom of the seventh with a leadoff homer, adding another run after the Mavericks went triple, walk, groundout after the big fly, then leading 3-2.
- The Mountain Lions traded right back in the top of the eighth, with Ruben Velasco leading off with a single, coming home to score two batters later on Brendan Killeen's double down the line in left.
- Things came unraveled in the bottom of the eighth for UCCS as the Mavericks blasted three homers to bring in four runs, effectively finishing off the Mountain Lions and completing the series sweep with the 7-3 win.
