COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third time this season, University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball guard
Amyah Moore Allen has earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors. Moore Allen was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, marking her second Defensive Player of the Week award this season (Jan. 19) to go along with an Offensive Player of the Week selection on Jan. 26.
In a 1-1 week for the Mountain Lions, the redshirt senior delivered another standout all-around performance, tallying 51 points, 14 rebounds, 11 steals, six assists, and one blocked shot. She opened the week with a dominant effort in a 79-68 road contest at Colorado State University Pueblo, recording her third double-double of the season with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Moore Allen also matched a season high with seven steals and added a block. Back at home Saturday, she fueled a 71-61 win over Colorado Christian University, finishing with 23 points, four rebounds, and four steals to secure the split week.
A starter in all 24 games this season, Moore Allen ranks among the RMAC leaders in multiple categories: third in scoring (19.9 points per game), second in total steals (56), third in steals per game (2.3), fourth in blocks per game (1.1), and fifth in field goal percentage (47.9 percent).
The Mountain Lions (15-9, 11-5 RMAC) close out their regular-season road slate this week, traveling to Colorado School of Mines on Thursday, Feb. 19 (5:30 p.m.), before facing Regis University on Saturday, Feb. 21. UCCS enters the week tied for fourth place in the conference standings with Western Colorado University.
