COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team wins game one vs University of Jamestown 11-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the top of the first, Jason Fink struck out the first two batters and got the third batter to ground out. In the bottom of the second, a leadoff double from Quinn Medin, Tyson Mayberry hit by pitch, and Bryce Peterson single loaded the bases early. A fielder's choice from James Harbison drove in the first run of the game. An RBI double from Brendan Killeen drove in the second run of the game. A walk to Robert Vandegrift loaded the bases with two outs. Tyler Buchman stepped up and hit a grand slam to right field to put the Mountain Lions up 6-0.
- In the top of the second, the Jimmies got their first NCAA Division 2 hit with a leadoff double. A passed ball got the runner to third and a walk to the second batter meant the Jimmies had runners on the corners with no outs. A single allowed the Jimmies to score their first run of the game. Fink bounced back with his third and fourth strikeout of the game and got out of the inning without giving up another run.
- In the bottom of the second, a hit by pitch and a stolen base got Medin to second with no outs. Mayberry was able to drive in Medin on an RBI double and Peterson followed that up with a two-run home run to right field to extend the Mountain Lion's lead. Trevor Dale came up and hit a solo home run to take a 10-1 lead against the Jimmies.
- In the top of the third, Fink got his fifth strikeout of the game. With two outs and a runner on first, their third baseman singled. However, their lead runner tried to take off to third and was out on a 6-3-5 putout. In the bottom of the third, the Mountain Lion's scored no runs and left a man on base.
- In the top of the fourth, back-to-back singles and a hit by pitch loaded the bases with no outs. A walk, fielder's choice, and wild pitch allowed Jimmies to score three runs in the inning. Fink was able to get his sixth strikeout of the game to get out of the jam. Peterson led off the bottom of the fourth with a double off the batter's eye. The Jimmies pitcher intentionally walked Dale with two outs, and it worked in their favor as they got out of the inning without giving up a run.
- In the top of the fifth, Christian Klehr came into the game for Fink and struck the first batter out. The Jimmies responded with a double to center field and a pass ball allowed the runner to advance to third. However, Klehr struck out the next two batters to get out of the inning. In the bottom of the fifth, the Mountain Lion's went down in order to the new Jamestown pitcher.
- In the top of the sixth with a runner on first, the Jimmies right fielder hit a line drive to center field and Medin stretched out to make a great catch. That was followed up with a 3-6 double play to end the inning. In the bottom of the sixth, the Mountain Lion's went down in order.
- In the top of the seventh, Spencer Gallimore replaced Klehr and struck out the first two batters. The third out was on a flyout to Medin as the Jimmies went down in order. In the bottom of the seventh, the Mountain Lion's went down in order.
- In the top of the eight, the Jimmies went down in order. In the bottom of the second, Buchman hit a leadoff double. With one out, Medin hit an RBI double to extend the Mountain Lion's lead.
- In the top of the ninth, Joe McDermott replaced Gallimore. With one out and a runner on first, a hit to Peterson allowed the Mountain Lion's to turn a 4-6-3 double play to end the game. The Mountain Lion's win 11-4 against the Jimmies.
