In the 12th minute, UCCS drew a free kick off a WWU handball. Taken by Mountain Lion forward Jessica Rockwell, the ball floated toward the backpost and was shot just wide of the net.

The Mountain Lions drew a free kick just outside the 18-yard-box in the 38th minute, allowing Malia Groshong and Abby Stassi to each record a shot, both of which were blocked by WWU defenders.
-
In the 43rd minute, UCCS forward Regan Dare played the ball from the left side of the field to the top of the box, connecting with Stassi who ripped a shot over the WWU goalkeeper's head, scoring the second goal of the match. The Mountain Lions secured a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
-
After dribbling through the midfield area and stepping into Mountain Lion defensive territory, WWU midfielder Reese Walker found open space and buried the ball in the net, just underneath the crossbar. (60th minute)
-
UCCS attempted to score their third goal of the match by feeding the ball to Johnson, who took advantage of the space in front of the box and shot from 20 yards out. The ball landed inches wide of the net and resulted in a WWU goal kick in the 75th minute.
-
In the 82nd minute, the Vikings tied up the match after Emily Rice floated the ball back post off a corner kick, setting Olivia Connell up for a header goal. Even with Mirshafiei's diving attempt, the ball slipped just past her fingertips into the lower left corner of the goal.
