KENOSHA, Wis. – Competing against six nationally ranked Division II cross country teams, the No. 14 University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team claimed a fifth-place finish Saturday morning at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational. The Mountain Lions collected 181 points and were one of three conference schools to finish in the top five on the course that will host the 2025 NCAA Division II national championship meet.

AROUND THE COURSE
- Crossing the finish line first for the Mountain Lions and in 23rd place overall was Brett Davis with a time of 25:10.78.
- Three Mountain Lions finished within 10 seconds of each other as Joseph Impellitteri led the trio with a 40th place finish in 25:36.58, followed by Logan Cole in 25:38.32 in 41st place, and Caden Leal in 44th place in a time of 25:46.99.
- Enzo Knapp came in just five seconds behind Leal as he clocked a time of 25:51.88 for 52nd place.
RACE LEADERS
- Ahmed Ibrahim from the University of Alabama-Huntsville led all 220 competitors with a time of 24:10.03.
- No. 2-ranked Colorado School of Mines won the 24-team meet with 52 points, besting runner-up and No. 3 Adams State University by five points.
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
- The top five teams in today's meet are nationally ranked. Joining UCCS, Mines, and Adams State in the top five were No. 6 Lee University (third place) and No. 11 Saginaw Valley State University (fourth place).
- No. 12 Cal Poly Pomona earned a sixth-place finish, and No. 21 Alabama-Huntsville finished ninth.
- Leal penned in a new 8k personal best time of 25:46.99.
UP NEXT
- The Mountain Lions will host the last regular-season meet on Friday, Oct. 10, at Monument Valley Park. The men's 8k race will begin at 9 a.m.
