HOW IT HAPPENED

However, in the seventh minute, UCCS earned their first scoring opportunity after Elise Broberg won a tackle against Skyhawk defender Renee Junna in the 18-yard-box and ripped a shot, landing just high of the crossbar.
- In the 18th minute, the Mountain Lions gained their second scoring opportunity after Abby Stassi passed to Taylynn Levi in the midfield area, who went on to beat two Fort Lewis defenders 1v1 and ripped a shot towards the lower left corner of the net. Skyhawk goalkeeper Trinity Lujan made a clean save and was able to transition her team up the field.
- Brooke Pavlich put the Mountain Lions ahead by one in the 29th minute, scoring an unassisted goal by slotting the ball in the upper left corner of the net, just past Lujan's fingertips.
- The Skyhawks make an effort to tie up the match by connecting the ball with Kiana Jamerson's foot, who went on to toe-poke it just inches off the goal-line. UCCS goalkeeper Nylah Mirshafiei managed to make the save by blocking the shot with her shins.
- In the 68th minute, Fort Lewis forward Danielle Gonzales created an opportunity for the Skyhawks by slipping a cutback pass to Rozlin Gomez at the top of the box, forcing a corner on UCCS after a Mountain Lion center back blocked the shot with a sliding save.
- With three minutes left in the match, Skyhawk forward Jenna Salazar made a last-minute attempt to score by shooting near the sideline on the right side of the pitch, lofting the ball directly into Mirshafiei's hands.
