COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team falls 15-2 to Colorado State University Pueblo after continuing the final two and a half innings on Friday due to inclement weather before taking a 6-5 victory in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME ONE
- After a scoreless first inning, starting pitcher Ryder Mancuso ran into some trouble in the top of the second inning when he allowed three runs on two hits. The Mountain Lions would not respond until the bottom of the third inning when Trevor Dale hit a solo shot to center field before Kit Wigington hit an RBI single into center field to make it 3-2 heading into the fourth inning.
- With both teams going scoreless in the fourth and fifth innings, CSUP tacked on another run to their lead in the sixth on a wild pitch by relief pitcher Colton Trudeau to make it 4-2 through five and a half innings. The Pack kept rolling into the seventh, as they plated five more in the top half of the inning to make it a 9-2 ball game just before inclement weather caused a postponement to Friday afternoon where CSUP would continue hitting in the top of the seventh with two outs and the bases loaded. The ThunderWolves scored one more run in the seventh during Friday's continuation to give them an eight-run lead through six and a half innings.
- CSU Pueblo would hold the Mountain Lions scoreless in the seventh and add five runs in the eighth and ninth innings as they cruised to a 15-2 victory in the first game of the weekend series.
GAME STATISTICS | GAME ONE
- The Mountain Lions recorded six hits to the Pack's 16.
- Ryder Mancuso (5-2) was credited with his second loss of the season, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
- Travis Ferrell (8-2) was credited with his eighth win of the season, pitching six innings with two runs allowed and five strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME TWO
- The ThunderWolves jumped ahead early as they scored four runs in the first inning which included a three run home run off the bat of Brad Stone. Innings two and three turned into a pitchers' duel until the Mountain Lions broke through in the bottom of the fourth when Bryce Peterson hit a solo shot to right field. UCCS would add five more in the fourth off doubles by Caleb Chance and Nolan Ackerman followed by a two-run homerun by Vander Hodges to take a 6-4 heading into the fifth.
- UCCS starting pitcher Jason Fink ran into some trouble in the top of the fifth when CSUP had runners on second and third with no outs. Fink would retire the next three batters in order, tallying two strikeouts in the process, to get out of the inning unscathed.
- The Mountain Lions threatened to score again in the sixth inning when Chance reached third base with two outs, but he would not reach home as the score remained at 6-4 in favor of UCCS with three innings to play.
- With relief pitcher Gerrit Erickson tossing a scoreless seventh and eighth, he would come back out in the ninth to hold the two run UCCS lead and give up a one out solo homerun to right field to make it 6-5 with one out. He would go on to retire the next two batters and hang on to the victory.

- Caleb Chance and Vander Hodges tied for the team lead in RBIs on Friday with two apiece.
- Jason Fink (5-4) tallies his fifth win of the season, pitching five innings with six strikeouts, two walks, and one earned run.
- Jacob Petersheim (5-3) tallies his third loss of the season, pitching five innings with four strikeouts and two walks, along with three earned runs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Kit Wigington is now the program leader in total bases earning his 400th career base in Friday afternoon's game.
- Vander Hodges hit his first home run of the spring in the fourth inning of Friday afternoon's game.
