Women's Basketball No. 10 in NCAA Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA released the second edition of the Division II Women's Basketball South Central Regional Rankings Wednesday afternoon in ranked order, and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team is ranked No. 10 in the 10-team regional rankings. 
 
In last Wednesday's inaugural rankings of the 2024-25 season, all 10 teams were listed in alphabetical order and were designated Under Consideration. 
 
The 64-team NCAA postseason tournament is comprised of eight teams from each of the eight Division II regions.  The South Central Region is made up of 15 teams from the RMAC and 16 teams from the Lone Star Conference. 
 
One more regular season ranking will be released on March 5 and will have teams ranked in order, 1-10.  The 64-team bracket will be announced on the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, March 9 at 8:30 p.m. (MT) on www.ncaa.com
 
Last weekend the Mountain Lions made their final road trip of the regular season, falling 71-65 to Adams State University on Thursday night before bouncing back to defeat New Mexico Highlands University, 75-72, on Saturday. 
 
UCCS enters the final two games of the regular season with a 15-10 overall record and an 11-7 mark in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games. The Mountain Lions are tied with Colorado State University Pueblo for fifth place.         
 
The Mountain Lions close out the regular season at home, playing host to Colorado School of Mines (12-14, 10-8 RMAC) on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m., and Regis University (11-14, 9-9 RMAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.  The Orediggers enter Thursday's matchup one game behind UCCS and tied for seventh in the league standings, while the Rangers are currently sitting in ninth place in the conference.
