No. 13 Mountain Lions Finish Fourth in 2025 RMAC Championship

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team accounted for 122 team points to place fourth overall in the RMAC Championship held at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs.

AROUND THE COURSE
  • The best finish for the No. 13 Mountain Lions on Saturday morning was Brett Davis in 22nd place with a time of 25:02.79. The next UCCS runner to cross the finish line was Logan Cole in 24th with a time of 25:14.60.
  • The other three Mountain Lions to tally points were Koy Cunningham (25th) with a time of 25:18.96, Enzo Knapp (27th) with a time of 25:23.68, and Caden Leal (34th) with a time of 25:36.55.
                       
RACE LEADERS
  • Two of the top five runners this morning came from CSM (Paul Knight – first place, and Jeremiah Vaille - third place).  The three other top five runners hailed from Adams State (Kidus Begashaw- second place, Nathan Scherbarth- fourth place, and Max Aldrich- fifth place).
  • Placing first overall as a team was Adams State University (32 points). Second place was claimed by Colorado School of Mines (41 points), followed by Western Colorado University (58 points), UCCS (122 points), and Fort Lewis College (173 points).
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
  • Mountain Lions Cunningham (25:18.96) and Leal (25:36.55) both improved on their career best 8k times this morning.
  • Davis, Cole, Cunningham, and Knapp earn All-RMAC Second Team honors as they all finished within the top 28.
  • First-place finisher Knight's time of 23:50.43 is a new course record for the men's 8k, a few seconds faster than the previous best of 23:56.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Mountain Lions will head to Pueblo, Colo. for the NCAA South Central Regional 10K on Saturday, November 8, with the race scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m.
