COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team improves their highest school ranking as they earn their way into the fifth spot in the United Soccer Coaches Week 3 National Poll after their number eight ranking in week two.
There is a new team holding the number one ranking as Lynn University overtakes Franklin Pierce University for the top spot in the nation after going 2-0 in week three. Colorado State University-Pueblo also moves up to the ninth spot in the poll after their previous rank of 15 while Fort Lewis College drops to 18 after drawing both of their matches. For the third week in a row, UCCS, CSU Pueblo, and Fort Lewis are the lone RMAC representatives in the top 25 with Colorado Mesa University also receiving votes.
Since drawing their first match of the season against California State University San Marcos, UCCS (5-0-1) has started a five-game winning streak with a 2-0 victory over Rogers State University and a 2-1 win against Oklahoma Christian University in week three.
The Mountain Lions have overtaken the number one ranking in the RMAC standings this week as CSU Pueblo (5-1) improves to second and Fort Lewis (3-0-3) drops to third. UCCS is now top 15 in the nation in total goals on the season with 14 and a goal differential of nine. Through three weeks, penalty kicks have been the big story for the Mountain Lions as they have scored more than any team in the country with six, accounting for 43% of their scoring.

Nick Walker both added to the penalty kick tally for UCCS this past week, which leaves Walker tied for first on the team in goals with four along with senior midfielder

Soulo Letsoalo both netted their first goals of the 2024 season as seven different Mountain Lions have now recorded a goal.
The Mountain Lions return home this Thursday for their homecoming match as they close their non-conference schedule against Colorado Mesa with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. before heading to Pueblo, Colo. on Sunday to play number nine ranked CSU Pueblo with kickoff at 2:30 p.m. (MT) at CSUP Art & Lorraine Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium.
