2025 MEN'S SOCCER SEASON RECAP
- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 12-6-5 and a conference record of 7-2-1. The Mountain Lions were the RMAC regular season and tournament champions, marking the first of both championships in program history. With their win over Metropolitan State University Denver in the RMAC Tournament Championship game, UCCS punched their ticket to the NCAA DII Tournament for the third year in a row.
- The Mountain Lions began the season with a rocky start. After winning their first match of the season 2-1 against Sul Ross State University, UCCS went 0-3-3 in their next six contests. The Mountain Lions season turned around just in time for conference play to begin, however, as they won five matches in a row, including their first four conference matches. After losing to then No. 18 nationally ranked Fort Lewis, UCCS beat Adams State 5-0 and proceeded to play another four matches in a row without losing.
- The Mountain Lions went 2-1-1 over the course of their final four conference matches, with their lone loss coming in the final game of the season against then No. 14 nationally ranked CSU Pueblo. UCCS went undefeated in home conference matches with a record of 4-0-1.
- After winning the regular season conference title, the Mountain Lions earned the No. 1 seed and the right to host throughout the RMAC Tournament. After a first round bye to start the tournament, UCCS faced No. 4 seed Westminster and won 2-1 to advance to the RMAC Tournament Championship game.
- In the RMAC Tournament Championship match, the Mountain Lions mounted a massive comeback as they scored three goals in the final 19 minutes, with the final two coming just nine seconds apart, to win 3-2 against then #22 MSU Denver. The two goals just nine seconds part was the fastest UCCS has scored two consecutive goals in program history. Due to their conference championship, the Mountain Lions earned the RMAC's automatic bid and secured their place in the NCAA DII Tournament for a third year in a row, receiving the tenth seed in Super Region 4 and getting slated to play California State University Los Angeles.
- UCCS continued their historic season, winning the first NCAA DII Tournament game in program history in a thrilling match that UCCS advance in penalty kicks, 4-2. The Mountain Lions then took on No. 9 nationally ranked and No. 2 seeded California State University Dominguez Hills in the second round and scored three second half goals en route to a dominating 3-1 victory as they advanced to the third round of the NCAA DII Tournament for the first time in program history.
- The incredible season came to an end for UCCS in the third round of the NCAA DII Tournament on Nov. 29 as they fell 2-1 against No. 16 nationally ranked and No. 3 seeded Point Loma Nazarene University. UCCS scored their lone goal in the 78th minute and had multiple chances to tie in the final ten minutes but came up just short.

STAT LEADERS
- Senior forward Miles Seminario led the Mountain Lions to their historic season with a team high 24 points. Playing in all 23 matches and starting 21 of them for a total of 1,722 minutes, Seminario netted ten goals and assisted on four more to share the team lead in both statistics. Seminario also lead the team in both shots (50) and shots on goal (27). Seminario was tied for fourth in the RMAC for goals, and was fifth for points. He also ranked fourth and third in shots and shots on goal respectively in the RMAC
- Nick Walker was UCCS' other big offensive contributor, tying Seminario in goals (10) and finishing second on the team in points (22), shots (33) and shots on goal (19). The junior forward also netted seven game winning goals, the most in UCCS program history for a single-season and NCAA Division II this year.
- The Mountain Lions' redshirt junior goalkeeper Hugo Sjöberg played every minute for the Mountain Lions in 2025, racking up a program record 2,090 minutes over the teams 23 matches. During his record-breaking time on the pitch ,Sjöberg recorded 66 saves on 97 opportunities for a .680 save percentage. His 5 clean sheets are seventh in UCCS program history. Sjöberg finished fifth and sixth for goals against average and saves in the RMAC respectively, while his five clean sheets were good for third, just one behind the two RMAC leaders.
- The Mountain Lions scored 44 goals this season, which was good for the third most in program history and second in the RMAC this season. UCCS also led the RMAC in shots (314), penalty kick goals (6), and corners (122), while finishing second in points (125).
- The 125 points and 37 assists recorded in 2025 were the most points and assists in a season by the Mountain Lions.
- Five Mountain Lions appeared in all 23 of UCCS' matches with those being Seminario, Sjoberg, Eduardo and Diego Macias, and Dimitrios Leonoglou.

HOT TAKES
- Miles Seminario capped off an illustrious four-year career with the Mountain Lions and now finds his name all over the UCCS record books. Seminario is the all-time leader in matches played after notching his 85th this year. He is also fifth all-time in shots on goal (62), and tenth all-time in total shots (125). His .496 career shot on goal percentage and 0.16 shot percentage is the third most and ninth most in program history respectively. In 2025 Seminario had the tenth most goals (10), tenth most shots on goal in a season (27), tenth most shot on goal percentage (.540), the most matches played (23), and second most matches started (21) in a season in program history.
- Nick Walker found himself breaking the program record with seven game winning goals in 2025. Walker also tied Seminario for the tenth most goals in a season by a Mountain Lion with ten total. Walker also ended the year with the third best single season shot percentage in UCCS history (.303) and the fourth best shot on goal percentage (.5757).
- Diego and Eduardo Macias each recorded four assists in 2025, the third most by a sophomore in UCCS history.
- Hugo Sjoberg broke the program record for matches played (23), matches started (23), and minutes played (2,090) while securing a 1.33 goals-against average that puts him fifth all-time in UCCS history. Sjoberg was the first Mountain Lion to record 2,000 minutes in a season.
- UCCS recorded eight home victories this season which tied the program record. 2025 also saw the fourth fewest losses (6), fifth most total wins (12), and the most ties (5) in program history for the Mountain Lions who ended with the sixth best win-loss percentage in the program's history (.635).
- UCCS also saw their fourth longest win streak and eighth longest unbeaten streak as they won five straight from Sept. 28 to Oct. 12.
- The Mountain Lions played in 23 matches this season, the most in program history as they advanced to the third round in the NCAA DII National Championship. As a result, ten Mountain Lions either tied or broke the previous program record of 21 matches played in a season.
- Lewis Wilcox picked up his 55th win as the Mountain Lions head coach in 2025 as his overall record moves to 55-28-19 across five seasons with UCCS. Wilcox is currently third all-time in wins as the UCCS head coach behind only Johnnie Keen (58) and Eddy Dietz (110).
- The Mountain Lions racked up 125 total points in 2025, the most in program history, passing 2024 by just one. Their 5.43 points per game were good for eighth most all-time.
- UCCS had 37 assists in 2025 which broke the previous record of 34 held by the 2023 team. Their 1.61 assists per game were good enough for fourth all-time.
- The 44 goals the Mountain Lions netted in 2025 is the third most in program history, tying last season. As a team, UCCS' shot percentage was .140 trailing only 2018 and 2014 for the best in a season.
