HOW IT HAPPENED
- Redshirt senior Audrey Bloomquist earned First Team All-America honors in the women's triple jump for the first time in her outstanding collegiate career as she finished the day with a personal best and outdoor school record mark of 12.61m. With her podium finish, Bloomquist brought in two points for the UCCS women's team, marking the first points scored by the Mountain Lions at this year's outdoor national championship meet.
- Senior Thorben Hast put together a strong day two of action in the men's decathlon as he rose three spots from the conclusion of yesterday's competition to finish in 11th place with a final total of 6,908 points. Hast scored a field-leading 761 points in the final event of the day with a time of 4:27.53 in the 1500m, while adding 741 points in the 110m hurdles (15.93s), 673 points in the pole vault (4.20m), 657 points in the javelin throw (54.61m), and 538 points in the discus throw (33.69m). With his 11th place finish, Hast secured Second Team All-America honors for the second consecutive outdoor season.
- Senior Melissa Moreni rounded out the competitors for the Mountain Lions on day two in the preliminary round of the women's 100m hurdles, where she went on to clock the third-fastest time in her heat and the sixth-fastest time overall in the field at 13.65s to earn qualification for the event final tomorrow afternoon. The two-time First Team All-American in the outdoor 100m hurdles will hit the track tomorrow in the event at 1:55 p.m. (MT).

- Bloomquist becomes the first UCCS women's student-athlete to earn outdoor First Team All-America honors in the women's triple jump.

- The 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will conclude tomorrow with the Mountain Lions having four student-athletes set to compete in their respective event finals. Jagger Zlotoff will kick off the action for UCCS in the men's 1500m final at 1:25 p.m. (MT), followed by Kate Hedlund in the women's 1500m final at 1:35 p.m. (MT), Melissa Moreni in the women's 100m hurdles final at 1:55 p.m. (MT), and Anna Fauske in the women's 5,000m final at 4:25 p.m. (MT).
