COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the 2023-24 Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Teams on Wednesday afternoon, with redshirt senior
Audrey Bloomquist of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team being named as the conference's Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic Athlete of the Year. Bloomquist also headlined a total of six UCCS student-athletes that earned RMAC All-Academic First Team honors for the indoor season as well as 34 Mountain Lions that were named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
The native of Helena, Mont., becomes just the second UCCS women's track & field student-athlete in program history to earn academic athlete of the year accolades, joining Maia Austin, who was selected for the same honor following the 2019-20 indoor season.
Joining Bloomquist as the RMAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Academic Athlete of the Year was Colorado Mesa University's Justin Thompson.
The RMAC All-Academic First Team and Academic Athlete of the Year awards are voted on by the conference's sports information directors.
To be eligible for consideration on the RMAC All-Academic First Team, a student-athlete must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and carry a cumulative 3.50 grade point average (GPA). All student-athletes that met those requirements but were not selected for the First Team, or have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, automatically qualified for the Honor Roll.
Bloomquist earns RMAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic Athlete of the Year honors for the first time in her career after recording a perfect 4.000 cumulative GPA across her undergraduate and graduate career. Also a selection to the RMAC All-Academic First Team for the fourth time in her career, Bloomquist was equally outstanding in the field of competition as she posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in three separate events, including the long jump, triple jump, and 60m dash. Bloomquist led the RMAC and the South Central Region in the long jump and triple jump with respective marks of 6.11m and 12.70m, while also ranking in the top-six nationally to qualify for the indoor national meet in both events. In the 60m dash, Bloomquist posted a season-best mark of 7.52s that ranked third in the RMAC and T28th nationally. At the 2024 RMAC Indoor Championships, Bloomquist was named the conference's Women's Athlete of the Meet after scoring 26 points with gold medal finishes in the long jump and triple jump and a bronze medal finish in the 60m dash. The fifth-year student-athlete, who also picked up All-RMAC First Team honors in the long jump, triple jump and 60m dash and USTFCCCA All-South Central Region accolades in the long jump and triple jump, went on to earn Second Team All-America honors in the triple jump with an 11
th place finish in the event at the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Skye Ciccarelli picks up RMAC All-Academic First Team honors for the third time in his collegiate career with a 3.840 cumulative GPA. In addition to his outstanding work in the classroom, the fifth-year Mountain Lion matched his career-best mark of 2.12m in the high jump on two occasions throughout the 2023-24 indoor season, finishing the campaign ranked second in the RMAC and tied for 16
th in the country for the event. At the RMAC Indoor Championships, Ciccarelli earned First Team All-RMAC honors and scored six points for the UCCS men's team with a third-place finish in the high jump. Also a USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honoree in the high jump, Ciccarelli went on to earn qualification for the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, where he secured a 12
th place finish in the event and earned USTFCCCA Second Team All-America accolades.
Thorben Hast makes his third career appearance on the RMAC All-Academic First Team after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.934 as a business major. The native of Germany had another strong season for the Mountain Lions as he recorded a season-best mark of 5,058 points in the heptathlon, which ranked third in the conference and 21
st in the nation. Hast also put together a strong showing at the RMAC Indoor Championships, finishing second overall in the heptathlon to score eight points for the UCCS men's team and secure All-RMAC First Team honors.
Anna Holland earns her first career selection to the RMAC All-Academic First Team after being named to the honor roll six times in previous seasons. A graduate student with an impressive 3.988 cumulative GPA, Holland posted a breakthrough indoor season at the throws ring as she recorded a season-best mark of 19.00m in the weight throw to lead the RMAC and the South Central region while ranking tied for sixth in the country. Holland posted a second-place finish in the event at the indoor conference championship meet, scoring eight points for the UCCS women's team and securing All-RMAC First Team honors in the process. A USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honoree as the region's top performer in the weight throw, Holland went on to make her first appearance in the event at the indoor national championship meet, where she posted a tenth-place finish to grab USTFCCCA Second Team All-America distinction.

Melissa Moreni picks up RMAC All-Academic First Team honors after recording a strong 3.941 GPA as a biology major. In addition to her efforts in the classroom, the native of Helena, Mont., finished the indoor season ranked second in the RMAC and tied for 14
th in the nation in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.55s. Moreni secured All-RMAC First Team accolades in the 60m hurdles with a second place finish in the event at the RMAC Indoor Championships, scoring eight points for the UCCS women's team. Moreni, who earned USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors in the 60m hurdles for the fourth consecutive season, went on to place eighth in her event at the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships to collect USTFCCCA First Team All-America status for the first time in her indoor career.

Brian Mosley Jr. earns RMAC All-Academic First Team accolades for the first time in his collegiate career after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.810 across his undergraduate and graduate endeavors. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native also displayed his talents on the track during the indoor season, posting a season-best mark of 6.68s in the 60m dash to rank first in the conference and tied for seventh nationally in the event. The standout sprinter went on to score 14 points for the Mountain Lion men's team at the RMAC Indoor Championships as he secured the individual conference championship in the 60m dash while also finishing fifth overall in the 200m dash. An All-RMAC First Team and USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honoree in the 60m and All-RMAC Second Team recipient in the 200m, Mosley Jr. earned his fourth straight bid to the indoor national championship meet in the 60m dash, where he collected a sixth-place finish overall to capture USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors in the event for the first time in his career.
In addition to six student-athletes being named to the first team, UCCS also had an additional 34 student-athletes recognized on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, including 21 from the women's team and 13 from the men's team.
