HOW IT HAPPENED
- Much like game one of the series, the Golden Eagles got off to a quick start, this time getting started on a UCCS miscue seeing Ben Goelz come around on a passed ball. They would add a run on a Jake Hjelle double, with Hjelle himself coming in on a groundout two batters later to give the visitors the early 3-0 lead before they hit the field defensively.
- Crookston would homer in back to back innings in the third and fourth frames, getting a two-run yard ball from Teddy Giefer to knock in Hjelle in the third, with Mitch Goodwin taking Marko Sipila deep in the fourth to bring the score to 6-0.
- A pair of singles in the fifth saw two Golden Eagles cross the plate as Jason Fink and the Mountain Lion bullpen entered the fray.
- A Kobe Senn single, UCCS passed ball, and Josh Dykhoff double plated three more for the visitors, with a Mitch Goodwin eighth inning double scoring two more to round out the scoring at 14 for Crookston.
- UCCS' only offense of the afternoon came in the home half of the eighth when Dillon Vroman singled home Colton Trudeau, with Alec Gomez blasting his third home run of the young season to bring in Vroman and Kasey Campbell who remained aboard. Strong pitching from the Golden Eagles was the story of the day, with Minnesota Crookston taking the finale by a 14-4 final.
