COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Juniors Soren Russell and Miles Seminario from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District First Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

Making his first career appearance on the CSC Academic All-District First Team is Soren Russell after he earned RMAC All-Academic First Team honors just over a week ago with a 3.72 GPA as a business major. Recently named the RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year and a member of the All-RMAC First Team, Russell has put together an incredible season in frame for the Mountain Lions, posting a 0.92 GAA, 63 saves, and five clean sheets across more than 1,650 minutes played. In 2024, the Bellevue, Wash. native further established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the conference as he currently ranks second in save percentage (0.788) and third in GAA (0.923) and total clean sheets (5). Across his first two seasons as a Mountain Lion, Russell has also etched his name into the UCCS record book as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in program history as his 1.01 career GAA ranks second all-time in program history among student-athletes with at least 1,000 minutes played and his 10 clean sheets and 0.785 save percentage both rank fifth all-time.

Miles Seminario joins Russell in earning CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in his career after he was an RMAC All-Academic First Team selection with a 3.77 GPA as an electrical engineering major. In addition to his excellent work in the classroom, Seminario emerged as one of the top offensive pieces for the Mountain Lions' formidable offense this season as he established new career-bests across the board with seven goals, four assists, and 18 points on his way to collecting All-RMAC Second Team accolades. The junior forward currently sits tied for first on the team in assists and game-winning goals (3), second in points, and tied for second in goals while pacing the Mountain Lions in total shots (43) and shots on goal (21). Across his three-year career at UCCS, Seminario has appeared in each of the team's 61 games in that span, making 24 starts and recording ten goals and seven assists for 27 points.

Both Russell and Seminario were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Dec. 10, 2024.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
