INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In the third and final edition of the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Regional Rankings that were released on Wednesday afternoon, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team rose one spot from last week and now holds the No. 2 ranking in Super Region 4.
The NCAA ranks the top 12 teams in each of the four super regions across the country, with the top ten teams from each super region qualifying for the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. The South Central region, which includes the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and the Lone Star Conference (LSC), is combined with the West region that includes teams from the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), and the Pacific West Conference (PacWest) to make up Super Region 4.
The final field of 40 teams for the 2024 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship will be announced on Monday, Nov. 18 with the official NCAA Selection Show being live streamed on the NCAA website at 4:30 p.m. (MT).
For a second consecutive week, California State University Los Angeles (11-1-6) from the CCAA occupies the top spot in the super region, while UCCS (14-1-4) moves up one spot to claim the No. 2 ranking. Midwestern State University (12-2-3) and Colorado State University Pueblo (12-3-3) both rose three spots from last week to secure the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively, with Point Loma Nazarene University (11-2-3) sliding to the No. 5 spot and Fort Lewis College (11-2-6) moving to No. 6. A trio of CCAA teams in California Polytechnic University Pomona (11-1-6), California State University Dominguez Hills (9-4-5), and California State University Chico (11-3-5) hold down No. 7-9, with Western Oregon University (13-2-1), Regis University (7-2-9), and St. Mary's University (12-3-3) rounding out the top 12.
UCCS continues their RMAC postseason push tonight as they travel south to Pueblo, Colo. for their conference semifinal matchup against CSU Pueblo at 6pm inside Art & Lorraine Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium.
