BOULDER CITY, Nevada – All five University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golfers are sitting in the top 10 and all are under par in the opening round of the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship Tournament, hosted at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

FROM THE TEE
- Tied for third place overall are Barrett Jones and Brandon Bervig who own a four-under par 68. Jones hit an eagle on par 5 hole 5 to go toward his -4 par on the front nine. He added four birdies and 11 pars on the day. Bervig also eagled on hole 5 and chipped in 13 pars and three birdies on his way to a career low 68.
- Travis Bossio carded a three-under par 69 and is tied for sixth place. Bossio accounted for 13 pars and four birdies for his second lowest round of the season.
- Rounding out the top five Mountain Lions are Brady Haake and James Perry. The duo is tied for eighth place with a two-under par 70. Haake chipped in the third eagle of the day on par 5 hole 7. He finished the day with 13 pars, including all nine pars on the back nine. Perry registered 10 pars and five birdies to start the three-day tournament.
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
- UCCS holds a seven-stroke advantage over second place Colorado State University Pueblo (282).
- Colorado Mesa University's Pable Diaz del Castillo is on top of the 45-man leaderboard after marking a five-under 67 on his scorecard this afternoon.
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- The Mountain Lions lead the field in par 4 (3.94, -3) and par 5 (4.35, -13) scoring. Their 60 pars and three eagles are the most of any of the nine teams competing.
