Zlotoff, Graff Earn First Team All-America Honors on Day Two at NCAA Indoor Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field teams closed out day two of the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday with six more All-America nods, including First Team honors for redshirt freshman Jagger Zlotoff and redshirt senior Evan Graff.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Zlotoff and Graff highlighted the day for the Mountain Lions with strong races in the men's mile final as Zlotoff claimed a sixth place finish with a time of 4:09.53 and Graff came across the line in seventh place at 4:09.71. Between the two First Team All-America runners, they scored five points for the men's team with Zlotoff earning three and Graff securing two.
  • After earning First Team All-America honors in the 5,000m last night, redshirt senior Afewerki Zeru brought in more hardware in the men's 3,000m final as he registered a ninth place finish with a time of 8:07.19 to secure a Second Team All-America nod for the event.
  • Making an appearance at the indoor national championship meet in the men's triple jump for the fourth time in as many years, redshirt senior Dakota Abbott jumped to a mark of 14.90m on his second jump of the day and that mark would stand as his best of the competition as he earned a ninth place finish and secured Second Team All-America honors for the event.
  • In the women's triple jump, redshirt junior Audrey Bloomquist made her first career appearance at the indoor national meet as she posted a jump of 11.97m for a 12th place finish and a Second Team All-America nod.
  • Redshirt junior Skye Ciccarelli rounded out the Mountain Lion's competitors as he cleared a bar height of 2.09m that finished tied for tenth place overall. With his finish, Ciccarelli earns Second Team All-America accolades.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • The Mountain Lions finished the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships with a total of 16 All-America honors, including seven First Team accolades and nine Second Team accolades.
UP NEXT
  • The Mountain Lions will now shift their attention to the 2023 Outdoor Track & Field season as they head to Colorado State University Pueblo next weekend to compete at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Invite inside the CSUP ThunderBowl on March 17-18.
