PUEBLO, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team goes one-under par in day two of the NCAA West/South Central Regional with four Mountain Lions improving from round one to remain in 14
th place at 10-over par (578).

FROM THE TEE
- Brady Haake (T20) remains as the Mountain Lions' tournament leader at one-under par (141) after shooting an even-par 71 on Friday with the sophomore starting his day off with a birdie on the par-4 first and ending his day with two pars to total five birdies and eight pars.
- Carding the team's best round on the day was freshman Rio Newcombe (T38) who made a six-stroke improvement from yesterday by shooting a two-under par 69 for a 144 through two rounds of play. Newcombe tallied two birdies on the front-nine but caught fire on the back-nine by going three-under par with an eagle on the par-5 11th and birdies on the par-4 15th and par-3 17th.
- Redshirt junior Barrett Jones (T32) joined Newcombe with an under-par round by going one-under (70) for two-over par in the tournament (143). Jones birdied three out the last five holes on the front-nine and continued the momentum with a birdie on the par-5's 11th and 14th and wrapped up the day with three straight pars to garner nine pars and five birdies in the round.
- Taking three strokes off his round one score was Travis Bossio (T88) who recorded a three-over par 74 after bagging 11 pars in Friday's play to register a 151.
- Redshirt sophomore Brandon Bervig (T88) improved five strokes with a two-over par 73 by reaching double-digit pars (10) on Friday and notching a pair of birdies on the font-nine and back-nine to tie Bossio at a 151 through 36-holes.
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
- Midwestern State University sits in a one-shot lead over Colorado Mesa University at 11-under par (557) after shooting 13-under par today.
- Jake Doggett of MSU and CMU's Dakota Gillman are tied for the lead at seven-under par (135).
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- The Mountain Lions slide up in par-5 scoring with a 15-under par which ranks as the fifth best team score. Brady Haake paces the Mountain Lions with the tied for fifth best par-5 score at six-under par.
- UCCS is also tied for 10th in par-count with 98 combined pars as Barrett Jones sits tied for 10th among individuals with 23 pars.
- Haake upped his birdie count to 10 total birdies to be ranked with seventh most among the 108 individuals.

- UCCS Men's Golf is scheduled to be back on Pueblo Country Club tomorrow morning for the third and final round starting at 9:10 a.m.
