HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME 1

- The Mountain Lions would get those runs back soon after with Caleb Stubbings lining a single up the middle to bring home two runs and tie the game with no outs in the bottom of the first inning. One batter later, Aaron Faragallah drove in another with an RBI single of his own to take the lead. A pair of sacrifice flies from Brad Madison and Macully Sehr put the Mountain Lions ahead 5-2 by the end of the first inning.
- In the bottom of the third, the Mountain Lions continued to get runners on base and hit the gaps as they plated seven runs in the inning to jump out to a 12-2 lead.
- John Hoffman settled in on the mound in the following innings after giving up two in the first as he went on to mow through the Cougar lineup with three scoreless innings.
- Kit Wigington would lead off the bottom of the fifth with a double the other way and would later score on a ground ball misplayed by the shortstop that allowed Wigington to score from third. A Macully Sehr double later in the inning would plate another run as part of a four-run inning to put the Mountain Lions up 16-3.
- The Mountain Lions launched two homeruns in the bottom of the sixth. Caleb Stubbings got a hold of a pitch he took over the right field fence for a two-run blast and Brandon Bagon had a two-run shot of his own later in the frame that cleared the wall in left-center. The scoreboard at the end of the inning read 21-5 in favor of the Mountain Lions.
- Chris Bryant would come in out of the bullpen to relieve John Hoffman to close out the game in the seventh. He would retire the side in order while posting two strikeouts in the inning to seal the win for the Mountain Lions.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME 2

- It did not take long for the Mountain Lions to jump ahead as Caleb Stubbings launched a three-run jack that hit off the top of the scoreboard in left-center for the early UCCS lead. Brad Madison would follow suit not long after with a solo shot of his own to right field to put the Mountain Lions up 4-0 in the first inning.

Macully Sehr would drive in another run later in the inning with a double down the right field line to go up 7-4.
- With a CCU runner on first with one out in the top of the fourth, Tyler Richardson nailed the runner at second with a perfect throw on a steal attempt. Faragallah would strike again in the bottom half with a triple to right field that brought in the eighth run of the game for the Mountain Lions.
- The Cougars brought the tying run to the plate in the top of the sixth with a runner on second base. The CCU first baseman lined a ball right back at Evan Langston on the mound who stuck his glove out to make the catch. With the runner on second leaning to third on contact, Langston was able to complete the double play by tossing it over to Sehr covering second base to prevent the run from scoring, getting the Mountain Lions out of the inning.
- Langston trotted back out for the seventh and final inning in game two. The Cougars would plate a run in the inning and then get the tying run on second base with two outs. Brock Weiss entered the game for the Mountain Lions and hit the first batter he faced, putting the go-ahead run on base.
- The next batter up for the Cougars batted from the left side and smoked a line drive that had the appearance that it would drop in for a base hit to right field.
