GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team shaved off 15 strokes and shot a 4-under par on Tuesday in the third and final round of the Western New Mexico University Mustang Intercollegiate, held at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz. UCCS finished in fifth place with a tournament score of 873 (290, 299, 284).

For the second straight day,
Travis Bossio led the Mountain Lions in scoring. Bossio started the day shooting a 33 on the front nine. He tallied four birdies on the day and nailed an eagle on par 5 hole No. 11. He finished the tournament with 34 pars, nine birdies and one eagle while placing in a tie for 11
th overall with a 215 (71, 74, 70). Bossio led the tournament field in par 3 scoring (2.83).
Brady Haake tied Bossio for today's best score. Haake's 70 brought his tournament score to 219 (74, 75, 70) and placed him in a tie for 23
rd overall. He hit eight parts and six birdies today while carding a 33 on the back nine.
Also tied with Haake for 23
rd place is
Brandon Bervig (70, 76, 73). Bervig drained 11 pars and three birdies today to finish the tournament with nine birdies.
Isaac Spillum and
Lucas Howell finished in a tie for 38
th place after shooting a 223. Both teammates carded their best round of the tournament today with a 72. They each registered 12 pars and three birdies each in the three rounds.
UCCS led all teams with 166 pars. The Mountain Lions also added 41 birdies and three eagles.
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
Colorado State University Pueblo moved up to first place today to win the 13-team tournament. The ThunderWolves shot a 279 in the final round to finish with an 853. Playing as an individual, Matthew Braley of Grand Canyon University won the individual tile with a 14-under par 202.
