CANYON, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track and field team registers seven national qualifying marks at the West Texas A&M University Joe Meaker Classic & Multi as outdoor junior
Hannah Meek bagged two of those marks including an automatic qualifying mark in the long jump.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Outdoor junior
Hannah Meek had a great outing as she punched her ticket to nationals in the long jump with an automatic qualifying mark that ranks second in Division II, setting a new PR, and recording a new school record of 6.32m to win the event. The indoor All-American added to her national qualifying marks by posting a triple jump provisional mark of 12.35m to take sixth.
• The provisional marks continued in the jump events as junior
Peter Ackah recorded a 7.32m mark in the long jump after taking third in the event. Two more top-10 finishes followed after Ackah with
Will Ross finishing fourth with a mark of 7.23m and
Peyton Turnage taking ninth with a mark of 6.83m. For the triple jump,
Dakota Abbott had the top UCCS mark as he jumped out to a distance of 14.71m for fourth place as
Peyton Turnage took fifth place with a jump of 14.50m.
• Senior
Colton Homuth also added his name to the outdoor performance list by heaving a provisional mark of 16.80m in the shot put for a second place finish.
• At the track, it was both the men's and women's 4x100m relay teams who raced to provisional qualifying times with the men's team (
Justice Mendoza,
Brian Mosley Jr.,
Peter Ackah,
Charlie Forbes) clocking a third place time of 46.32s and the women's team (
Keyanda Bolton,
Hannah Meek,
Brittany Fuchs,
Kayla Zink) running to a second place finish at a time of 40.49s. Both marks rank inside the top-5 in DII as the men's relay time ranks second and the women's relay time ranks third.
• Outdoor Sophomore
Justice Mendoza once again raced to a provisional time in the men's 200m to make it three straight meets of national qualifying marks in the event as he sprinted to a seventh place time of 21.24s.
• Redshirt junior
Kayla Zink and redshirt sophomore
Brittany Fuchs each posted two top-10 finishes on Saturday with both sprinters competing in the 100m and 200m. After posting times of 11.88s and 24.48s in the 100m and 200m, Zink earned sixth place and eighth place respectively. For Fuchs, a ninth place time of 11.98s in the 100m and a sixth place time of 24.44s in the 200m wrapped up her day at the track. On the men's side it was redshirt freshman
Brian Mosley Jr. who clocked a top-10 finish of eighth place after sprinting to a time of 10.66s.
• At the hurdles events, black & gold filled the results starting with
Zaire Jackson who clocked a fifth place time of 15.45s. Then in the women's 400m hurdles UCCS registered an impressive six student-athletes in the top-10 with
Cameron Tracy leading the way with a third place finish of 1:03.58.
Grace Wenham (1:04.09),
Diana Reynolds (1:04.34), and
Jalen Jordan (1:04.40) followed it up with fifth, sixth, and seventh place finishes, respectively. Freshmen
Nadine Almasri and
Maggie Remsberg then rounded out the top-10 in the 400m hurdles with Almasri taking ninth at a time of 1:05.62 and Remsberg taking 10
th after finishing in 1:05.75.
• The high jump was another event where the Mountain Lions took over as redshirt senior
Tanner Walsh registered the top finish with a second place jump of 1.97m.
Skye Ciccarelli finished right behind Walsh with a third place mark of 1.97m as
Derek Valdez took fourth after a clear of 1.92m. On the women's side,
Faith Novess was the top UCCS finisher after a clear of 1.64m with
Lydia Pavlenko (1.60m) taking seventh and Remsberg (1.56m) recording ninth place.
• At the men's pole vault,
Dawson Hopkinson registered a second place finish by vaulting a mark of 4.96m as freshman
Holden Daniels recorded mark of 4.66m to finish in fourth place.
• In throws events,
Anna Holland and
Justyn Loper heaved top-10 finishes with Holland (47.75m) taking 10th on the women's side and Loper (55.22m) taking fifth place on the men's side. At the javelin, Caroline Walters continues to work into the top-10 as she threw 36.85m for fifth place with
Seth Richmond (47.68m) and
Jaren Albrighton (42.34m) notching fifth and sixth place respectively on day one.
