AUSTIN, Texas – Three student-athletes from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's track & field program were selected to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-America® Teams on Tuesday morning, with Audrey Bloomquist being tabbed to the first team, Melissa Moreni being selected to the second team, and Anna Holland earning third team accolades.

The 2023-24 Academic All-America® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom with a minimum grade-point-averages of 3.5 or higher. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The owner of a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA after finishing her Bachelor of Science in Business and Master of Arts in Communication at UCCS, Bloomquist becomes just the fourth women's student-athlete in women's program history to be selected to the CSC Academic All-America First Team and picks up the second CSC Academic All-America nod of her collegiate career after being tabbed to the second team following the 2022-23 campaign. A native of Helena, Mont., Bloomquist engineered a tremendous showing in her final academic year with the UCCS track & field program, performing at the highest level both in the classroom and in the field of competition. Academically, the spectacular sprinter and jumper earned RMAC First Team All-Academic honors and was tabbed as the RMAC Women's Academic Athlete of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. On the track, Bloomquist put her talents on display at both the conference and national levels throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons. In conference action, Bloomquist was selected as the indoor and outdoor RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year while also being tabbed as the indoor and outdoor RMAC Women's Athlete of the Meet as the top women's point scorer at both conference championship meets. In addition, she went on to collect a total of six All-RMAC First Team accolades and one All-RMAC Second Team honor across the two seasons. At the national level, Bloomquist was a multiple event qualifier for both the indoor and outdoor national championship meets and wound up collecting USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors in the triple jump for the indoor season and USTFCCCA First Team All-America accolades in the triple jump for the outdoor season.

Coming off back-to-back selections to the CSC Academic All-America Third Team following the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, Moreni earns a selection to the second team for the 2023-24 season after posting a 3.94 GPA and graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Biology. The native of Helena, Mont., joins Will Ross (2019-21) as just the second student-athlete in men's and women's track & field program history to earn a trio of Academic All-America honors throughout their collegiate career. Moreni produced yet another outstanding all-around performance in her final year with the UCCS track & field program as she earned RMAC All-Academic First Team accolades for the indoor and outdoor season as a result of her efforts inside the classroom while securing All-RMAC First Team and USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors for both the indoor 60m hurdles and outdoor 100m hurdles. The standout hurdler also showed out on the national stage as she notched USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors in the indoor 60m hurdles for the first time in her collegiate career before making her third consecutive appearance as a USTFCCCA First Team All-American in the outdoor 100m hurdles.

Holland secures CSC Academic All-America Third Team honors after notching a 3.99 cumulative GPA while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Inclusive Elementary Education and Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. A first-time CSC Academic All-American and an RMAC All-Academic First Team selection for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, Holland complemented her academic success by making a huge impact on the UCCS women's track & field team inside the throws ring in her final season as a Mountain Lion. The fifth-year thrower established herself as a top-ten national seed in the weight throw during the indoor season after posting a school record mark of 19.00m at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi and went on to earn USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors in the event. In addition to making her first career appearance at the indoor national championship meet, Holland earned All-RMAC First Team accolades and USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors in the weight throw for the indoor season. During the outdoor season, the Fort Collins, Colo., native continued to prosper as she broke her own school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 55.01m, collecting USTFCCCA All-Region honors and All-RMAC Second Team accolades.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America® program.
